Week 6: Investigation

At around 2 in the morning, a steady rain of hail started to cover the town of Cartesio. The night continued, however, with the motel unbothered, aside from the plink-plink on the roof and windows.

This morning, you'll find the weather's started to let up, though the streets are still blanketed by hail. Mercifully, that's all that's outside the motel this morning. No corpses, no robot remains. That alone should make you feel better, right?

But no. It seems...the town's very alert this morning. There's a strange energy in the air, not just from the Sergeant's horrible threat. Something's off in Cartesio, and you probably recognize that feeling. This has happened four times before, after all.

[a fight that ended in the children's section, then? geez. he needs to make a list of all this evidence. there's something really off about the way the glass has fallen, but he can't put his finger on what it is. he does glance up near the ceiling to see if any lightbulbs fell down.

and then he's continuing to follow the mess]

[ To clarify, the fight seems to mostly have taken place in the children's section. It's centralized here, though some overturned chairs and tables lead from the front of the library.

There's no evidence of falling lightbulbs, no. However, in following the debris he'll find something near that still standing table! Something in the wall. ]

[no falling lightbulbs. what a mystery this glass is. he looks around the area a bit more and finally spots that thing on the wall. that's... weird... he gets closer. what is it?]

[cartesio]

[ A bullet hole! It's actually right behind one of those oil burning lamps Osomatsu loves so much...though this one is also broken, both top and base smashed. ]

[FANTASTIC. Osomatsu pales at the sight of the hole, but he's at least looking at it. he doesn't know anything about bullet holes, or sizes of bullets, but he will look around for more, or casings, or things like that.

he'll also pick up that broken lamp and check it over. maybe that's where the glass came from]

[ Let's cover other bullet holes first. Osomatsu will find one other hole in the wall, about five feet from the ground. It's a few feet from the table, still in the children's section. ]

[yeah, bullets first! this is so grim. guns, and broken glass, and fire in the library. in the children's section. fun for all.

that's two bullet holes. is he going to find anymore? what about the sizes of these holes? are they roughly the same?]

[ He won't find anymore holes! They are the same size, both of them 9mm. ]

[HMMM. okay. great. anymore bullet-related things around here? what's next?]

[cartesio]

[ Let's go back to that lamp.

It sits shattered on the table, right in front of bullet hole #1. Since Osomatsu is looking so closely for the source of glass, he may take note of the fact that there is no glass among the debris, even though there was clearly a spot for a bulb in this lamp. ]

[why is this so confusing. did someone remove the bulbs and throw them? he's just going to have to leave the glass mystery (glasstery?) up to the Pros. and by pros, he means smarter people.

if there's no glass among the debris, what else is there?]

[ Just the ceramic of the lamp itself. It was a very nice lamp, before it shattered. ]
