Week 6: Trial

   

The atmosphere at the courtroom is different this time. Although people are filling the tribunes, not everyone seems to be furious with the outsiders. Some are scowling and looking at them with outrage, others are cautiously wary of them. Unhappy, but not about to snap anyone's neck.

The Sergeant waited until everyone was at their spots, and counted them:

"Our numbers are dwindling. It's surprising, I admit. I thought there'd be more of you at this point"

Not that it's inconvenient. It's just surprising. The number of podiums belonging to the deceased prove just how many have perished. Several of you may be feeling a bit lonely in the sea of black velvet.

"Wayne Uedera, Osamu Dazai. They're the victims this time. Good luck, everybody. Here's my help to you all, like last time, vote for as many as you consider necessary:

I found Dazai's body in the children's section of the library. He was pinned underneath a heavy bookcase. Covered in third degree burns. Might've been a little less damage to his back, but that's not saying much. He had bruises and broken ribs that were consistent with the crush injury from the bookcase, but there was one unusual bruise on his right abdomen that was oblong shaped.

[A beat.]

Might've died suffocating from the fire.

[Now all of you know too.]

The firefighters don't know exactly when the sprinkler system went off. Their best guess was between 2:30 and 3:30 in the morning. The library was a wreck, there was a real fight there.

While I walked around in the street near the library, I found a trail of photographs belonging to Dazai that led towards the abandoned electronic building. I've got them here.

Did you find anything nearby that could have matched the bruise you mentioned?

You;d have to ask Osomatsu. I thought it might've been from bumping into a table or something.

[The place was pretty chaotic and all.]

Though it might've been from one of the broken lamps.

Keith. Can you compare the butt of the knife Mr. Gant found to the bruise on Mr. Dazai?
