Week 6 - Trial

Week 6: Trial
The atmosphere at the courtroom is different this time. Although people are filling the tribunes, not everyone seems to be furious with the outsiders. Some are scowling and looking at them with outrage, others are cautiously wary of them. Unhappy, but not about to snap anyone's neck.
The Sergeant waited until everyone was at their spots, and counted them:
Not that it's inconvenient. It's just surprising. The number of podiums belonging to the deceased prove just how many have perished. Several of you may be feeling a bit lonely in the sea of black velvet.

Let the trial begin.
The Sergeant waited until everyone was at their spots, and counted them:
"Our numbers are dwindling. It's surprising, I admit. I thought there'd be more of you at this point"

"Wayne Uedera, Osamu Dazai. They're the victims this time. Good luck, everybody. Here's my help to you all, like last time, vote for as many as you consider necessary:

I was with Kino-san helping find things in the electronics shop... where Wayne-san was found. There were a bunch of bullet casings [ they're a set of .32 for those who are more familiar, even if Sakura wouldn't know that ] and there were a bunch of bullet holes in the wall, too. The height of them varied, and there were some closer to the ground but the highest they went were about... about my height?
152 centimeters [ that's five feet, she's Japanese, I'm sorry ] I think.
And several feet away from Wayne-san, I also found scattered ash and I could smell... um, I think it was alcohol near the ashy area, too? There was also shattered glass with some bottle labels, I think.
And I also found the remains of a raincoat with some blood on it. The back is burned away, unfortunately, but parts of the front are still usable.

I also found a line of blood splatter on the wall and ground behind him. It matched the diameter of his wound, but it didn't look like it was caused by a body's contact. Something sent the blood flying, but I'm not sure what - the large gash was deep, but it didn't go through him. [Else he'd probably have been bisected.]

I started off in the, uh... the library. Keith and I found mister Dazai. The first thing I noticed was that the area was smoky, like there was a fire. The sprinklers had also come on. He was under a bookcase. On top of that bookcase, there was the base of some kinda old lamp. An oil-burning lamp? It was broken, the shade was gone. Down the back of the bookcase, I found fire damage spreading out from the base of the lamp. And, on the front of the bookcase, I found more damage, scorch marks. I'm not... sure what happened first 'cause it didn't look like the fire had burned through from one side to the other.
There was also a lot of broken glass. I didn't know what it was from at the time, but it could have been from the lamp shades. I'm not sure though. The glass had fallen into circular patterns, surrounding both the bookcase, and a table. There were also two bullet holes in the wall, and a ton of furniture had been knocked over, as well. Lastly, I found another one of those lamps. It had been shattered completely, but instead of glass surrounding it, it was just porcelain. [weird]
After checking out the library, I went to look around town and found out some stuff in the hunting store was missing. [checking his list again] I found empty spaces for a hunting knife, a campfire kit, and a raincoat. Also, it looked like someone grabbed a pair of scissors, but then decided they didn't need them, so they put 'em back in a haste. Inside the trashcan, I found scraps of plastic fabric. I think they were from the missing raincoat.

[A beat.]
Might've died suffocating from the fire.
[Now all of you know too.]
The firefighters don't know exactly when the sprinkler system went off. Their best guess was between 2:30 and 3:30 in the morning. The library was a wreck, there was a real fight there.
While I walked around in the street near the library, I found a trail of photographs belonging to Dazai that led towards the abandoned electronic building. I've got them here.

This is important because... there were photos most likely belonging to Mr. Dazai between the library and the abandoned building where Mr. Uedera was. Mr. Dazai died of suffocation in the fire, but I think it's probable he fought back as well due to the bullet holes. We all know he had a gun that used 9mm rounds. His back was burned slightly less than the rest of the body, which could match up with the raincoat. He also had a bruise on his body that we haven't been able to find the cause of. The sprinkler system probably went off around 2:30 to 3:30AM.
Whoever killed Mr. Dazai is probably responsible for slashing the tires and hoses at the firestation to prevent them from interfering. Is there anything else I've missed?
We should... probably think about the evidence we've found some more.

[She frowns.]
I don't think we've talked about the alcohol Sakura smelled near Wayne's body, and I'm still really curious about the cuts on Wayne's legs. There's some stuff about the hunting store that's bothering me, too.

I did. Took you long enough trying to bullshit your way around it, huh? Then again, took him long enough to realize that I led him to the library for a reason. Too bad, really.
And what was the rest of that? Hawks and I worked together, right? Did'ya forget the talk we had a few weeks ago, paladin? What kind of villain likes a hero, let alone works with them? I hate them. They're the trash of society and only look out for themselves!
It was bad enough having him try to babysit me all the time like he could stop me, just like he thought he could save Bakugou. Or maybe he thought he could reform me, always the optimistic number two hero who can save everyone. His fault for believing me after he fell asleep last night.
[ We are the League of Villains. ]

Why both of them, then? If Hawks didn't help you...

MHA SPOILERS
Time is almost up though, and he can feel the press of it. Watching Dabi unravel is the final straw.
One, two, three flaps, and he's standing on Moloch's podium across the room and next to Dabi. His wings stay spread wide, making himself the larges target. One large feather on each wing shoots off and into his hands. The sound they make is an ominously sharp whistling.]
Of course the raincoat needed to be cut, I had get it on somehow, huh?
[Hawks has never been good at backing down from challenges, and he's sidestepped this one enough.]
