Week 6: Trial

   

The atmosphere at the courtroom is different this time. Although people are filling the tribunes, not everyone seems to be furious with the outsiders. Some are scowling and looking at them with outrage, others are cautiously wary of them. Unhappy, but not about to snap anyone's neck.

The Sergeant waited until everyone was at their spots, and counted them:

"Our numbers are dwindling. It's surprising, I admit. I thought there'd be more of you at this point"

Not that it's inconvenient. It's just surprising. The number of podiums belonging to the deceased prove just how many have perished. Several of you may be feeling a bit lonely in the sea of black velvet.

"Wayne Uedera, Osamu Dazai. They're the victims this time. Good luck, everybody. Here's my help to you all, like last time, vote for as many as you consider necessary:

How big were the bullet holes?

Both bullet holes were the same size. I'm guessing about 9-millimeters. One hole was behind one of those broken oil lamps, and the other was about 152 centimeters from the ground. [five feet, he's also Japanese]

[ five feet is...... really suspicious as all heck, especially given who's on the suspect list ] Hmm. I wonder if Dazai-san was the one who was shooting...

[he was thinking the same thing]

Yeah, I dunno. Like I said, the library was a mess. You could definitely tell a struggle happened in there.

Yeah. I guess we'll just have to find out if Dazai-san had the gun or if someone else does. [ and if it's someone else, then. we might have to search for a Gun ]

That does match his persua- gun of choice.

If the bladed weapon that took down Uedera-san really was a knife however... I wonder if he was shooting for the heart instead of the head.

If they're aiming for the heart, then it would have to be someone who's taller than the shots, right?

Right.

There's something else that concerns me... If the knife Mr. Gant found was the murder weapon for Mr. Uedera, it's incredibly difficult for someone shorter than him to have done that.

I, myself have fought with a knife against larger opponents before. When the knife is my only weapon, I lose every time. The height advantage means they have a greater reach for defending against your attacks.
