Week 6: Trial

   

The atmosphere at the courtroom is different this time. Although people are filling the tribunes, not everyone seems to be furious with the outsiders. Some are scowling and looking at them with outrage, others are cautiously wary of them. Unhappy, but not about to snap anyone's neck.

The Sergeant waited until everyone was at their spots, and counted them:

"Our numbers are dwindling. It's surprising, I admit. I thought there'd be more of you at this point"

Not that it's inconvenient. It's just surprising. The number of podiums belonging to the deceased prove just how many have perished. Several of you may be feeling a bit lonely in the sea of black velvet.

"Wayne Uedera, Osamu Dazai. They're the victims this time. Good luck, everybody. Here's my help to you all, like last time, vote for as many as you consider necessary:

Hmm... [ that definitely doesn't help here ] About the motive... do you have any idea what the Sergeant-san would have taken?

[There's a bit of a pause before Keith glances at Natalie a little awkwardly.]

She can confirm that's what I was doing.

[Moving on quickly-!!]

I;ve got an idea, yeah.

[She glances at him, then looks away just as quickly, nodding.]

...I can, yeah. He's telling the truth.

[clearities]

Ho~e? [...] You were with Natalie? [ THAT'S THE IMPORTANT PART HERE, CLEARLY but it's also good? although given that people have been used as alibis before, it's still Not Great but she does trust Natalie a lot to make sure that Keith doesn't do any stupid murders ]

[marmoron]

[Holy shit, stop embarrassing him???]

It's not like that!

[clearities]

Not like what...? Aren't you two friends? [ Keith, please. ]

Hey, how about we continue talking about murder immediately?

Yeah? We are??

[How does he turn back time?!]

It's just that all of you guys keep getting these weird ideas in your head during trials and I'm trying to tell you it's not what you guys are thinking, okay? Sheesh.

[Oh?]

[Right back at you.]

Why is it that I have to keep reminding you people are dead at every trial?

[quickpersuader]

Sometimes it's nice to think about the good when you're surrounded by bad things.

Well get your head out of rainbows and sunshine and start thinking about who did this!

[She's asking important questions elsewhere, too!]

[EYES NARROWING.]

Do we even know how many culprits we're looking for this time? At least based on all the effort whoever killed Dazai put into making sure the firefighters weren't getting to the library any time soon, you'd have to figure they lured the guy out there. But then why did Wayne have to die?

That's hard to say. We need to figure out the exact timeline of things first, I think.
