The atmosphere at the courtroom is different this time. Although people are filling the tribunes, not everyone seems to be furious with the outsiders. Some are scowling and looking at them with outrage, others are cautiously wary of them. Unhappy, but not about to snap anyone's neck.

The Sergeant waited until everyone was at their spots, and counted them:

"Our numbers are dwindling. It's surprising, I admit. I thought there'd be more of you at this point"

Not that it's inconvenient. It's just surprising. The number of podiums belonging to the deceased prove just how many have perished. Several of you may be feeling a bit lonely in the sea of black velvet.

"Wayne Uedera, Osamu Dazai. They're the victims this time. Good luck, everybody. Here's my help to you all, like last time, vote for as many as you consider necessary:

There are a few things we should probably go over more, yeah.

[She frowns.]

I don't think we've talked about the alcohol Sakura smelled near Wayne's body, and I'm still really curious about the cuts on Wayne's legs. There's some stuff about the hunting store that's bothering me, too.

You... don't think he missed because he was drunk, do you...?

...I really want to believe he wasn't inebriated and hanging out in a random building on Thursday night.

[But, well. That's not a no.]

He's a bit young to [legally] drink, unless there's a different age limit where he's from. Could've not cared about that either way, but I also doubt he would have in the first place. We all know Thursday night is a night to be cautious of, at this point.

...If it was his, he didn't get it from the tavern. Is there anywhere else here that sells alcohol?

I know I got some beer from the Sergeant for... participating. [a regain]

I don't know anything about that, but is it possible that it could have been something the Sergeant-san gave him...?

Yeah... I guess that could be it.

Did his body smell at all like alcohol?

No, he didn't. So at least there's that.

Maybe the culprit used the alcohol to start the fire they were using to burn up the evidence.

[Not that he knows what proof alcohol that was, but..]
