Week 0: Investigation

The deadline is fast approaching and the one thing that should be on everyone’s minds is, “what’s going to happen now?” Last night there was a strong thunderstorm, and thanks to it the air still feels cold, moist, and even a little murky. Droplets of water cover many surfaces outside, and there are few clouds hanging in the sky. It’s rather fitting weather given, in just a few hours, all of your lives will be claimed. Have you made peace with this seemingly unavoidable outcome?

Whether you have or haven’t, it would appear your musings are doomed to be interrupted. Outside the motel sirens can be heard as a patrol car zooms by. Maybe nothing’s wrong, and maybe it’s something unrelated to everyone’s current situation.

...but, even if it is, how many of you can really sit around and do nothing? The events of the 30th proved how eager to help some of you are—enough so to put even your own lives in danger.

Abruptly, the patrol car makes a sharp turn and disappears out of sight.

[ So just how strong is her actual love for ice cream because-

From first glance the ice cream looks just fine. Whoever was in here last however, doesn't seem to care about health department codes because they left the scoop in a tub of raspberry sorbet. Clean up after yourselves, people! ]

[Gasp! How dare they!

...Not that Millium actually cares about health code violations, but, you know. Raspberry... maybe not her favorite color of anything to be seeing right now, ugh.

Well, she's too small to peek over the counter without going around. So, next stop is going to be checking out the seating areas.]

[ Onto the seating areas it is! Millum will notice that there's a nick in the table, that sticks out in contrast to how orderly the rest of the seating area looks. ]

[There's an entire mod in the table?! Huh. Strange.

How big is it? How deep? What shape?]

[ Right.

The nick isn't exactly shallow, it's clear that whatever made it was swung with deliberate force. If you look closer, you'll notice that the mark appears to be serrated. ]

[Noted.

Anything on the floor around here, or anything else in this area in general?]

[cartesio]

[ Nothing on the floor, but it might be worth looking a bit higher! ]

[But she's tiny?!

Okay, fine. Looking up! Anything in her line of sight if she looks up above the tables and stuff, or is she gonna have to start climbing?]

[ It's in her line of sight thankfully! If she looks just a bit up she'll notice that the condiment bar has some nicks on it too. ]

[More of the same?]

[ Yup! They look to be from whatever left the marks on the table.

There's one more thing you haven't found here yet—it's probably worth taking a closer look at the ice cream itself, huh? ]

[And noted again!

Well, in that case, her next objective is to get behind the counter, so she can better examine that ice cream!

Please tell her there are no body parts in or near the ice cream. That's all she asks of this place.]

[ There are no body parts around the ice cream! There's still that pesky health violation of the scoop in the raspberry sherbert, but now that you're around the back you can see that it looks like the bubblegum ice cream has been disturbed somewhat.

Curious...]

[It is annoying, now that she thinks about it. If you're going to eat enough of it to put that scoop back in there, at least finish the whole thing!

Millium, no? That is entirely too much sherbert.

Bubblegum and raspberry, though? Sounds like a combination she'd make.

Any other flavors looking weird, or just those two?]

[ Just those two!

For the bubble ice cream in particular, it doesn't look like anything's been taken out of it, but rather that it's almost too smooth. ]

[...Y'know. Something that perfect, she gets the urge to dig through it.

Is she going to corrupt it too much if she nabs the scoop out of the raspberry and get to that, or is there something else she should be doing?]

[ You can grab the scoop out of the raspberry sorbet— there's nothing stopping you and there's nothing to note about the scoop except that there's a little sorbet left on it.

So, with how much enthusiasm are you digging? ]

[Are you seriously asking if Millium has a setting that isn't 100%?

Because the answer is no. She does not.

FULL SPEED AT THIS BUBBLEGUM ICE CREAM, LET'S GO, PLEASE DON'T HAVE A FINGER IN YOU OR SOMETHING]

[ Well she doesn't need to go too far down to discover something that's metal and shaped like a cylinder. How familiar are you with guns? ]

[Pretty damn familiar. She doesn't use them, but she knows plenty of people who do.

Is she staring down the barrel of an ice cream gun?]

[cartesio]

[ Not that large! But she has found a bullet casing embedded in the bubblegum ice cream. That's definitely not supposed to be there.
