Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

Well, of course I’d buy stuff! But only after I got home. There’s nothing I really wanna buy here.

[Moloch winces with sympathy]

Got anything already planned to spend money on back at home?

[hm! Osomatsu pauses, thinking about it]

Maybe a smartphone, so my brothers would be jealous of me. Or a car!

[he's not going to make enough to buy a car]

[chiefminion]

[Moloch has absolutely no idea what a smartphone is, haha! The car, though, he kind of understands that one -- and he gets interested further when Osomatsu mentions his brothers]

You got brothers?

[relieable]

Huh? [he looks up] Oh, yeah! Five younger brothers.

[chiefminion]

Five? I have seven brothers.

[Moloch actually smiles earnestly. It's not everyday he meets someone with a family almost as extensive as his. Even if that's the only thing Osomatsu and he have in common, he's glad there's something]

[WHOA! Osomatsu looks impressed! someone's actually got him beat! ...unless]

You the oldest?

[chiefminion]

Second oldest. [He sounds kind of proud of that] The eldest's only a year older than me.

[ah, it's good to be responsible for the others, isn't it? even though Osomatsu isn't responsible at all]

That's pretty impressive! I dunno what I'd do if there were eight of us.

[chiefminion]

It's nothing too strange. We just look out for each other the best we can.

[His smile gets tense. He...he failed to do that, unfortunately. This group of brothers didn't end well]

That's good! [he doesn't notice the tense smile, just happy to be bonding with someone else over large families] Sometimes, that's all you can do, just protect each other. Like, me an' my brothers... we hassle each other a lot, but when it comes down to it, we stick up for each other.
