Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[ Guess who did actually dress up using the rental service. He's over at the buffet snagging a plate. ]

Whoa. Get a load of this food, yo.


[ Games ]

[ Let's try playing the pachinko machine! Once he hits the thing, he hits the thing, he watches as the ball roll down a path and fail to hit any of the goals. ]

Huh? Is that all it really does?

[ He'll give it a few more times after this because he's trying to figure out what's the deal.

Later, he'll move on to the slots. They are a lot more his speed with the lights and actually knowing what is going on. ]

[ Someone can't turn down a party, in spite of everything else going on. Bolin managed to find a suit that fit him and he's pretty happy with it too!

You can find Bolin at the Buffet where he's comically loading a plate sky high with all sorts of different foods. He's pausing as he finishes placing a small rack of ribs onto the plate, considering it. ] Hmm, is this enough?

[ Or you might just find him on the Dance Floor, where's he's dancing some sort of Charleston.

Bolin might even be found creeping around the Game Machines. He's not getting anywhere close to them just yet, but he's eyeing them with some sort of hesitant interest. ] Hmm, so there's machines for this sort of thing...

[ Likewise dressed in a suit, Bolin's grabbing his own plate as he looks over the food. ]

There's so much, I don't know where to start.

[Kino opts for a slick black suit and promptly wanders over to the buffet table to indulge in the heaps and heaps of food available. If the teen seems a bit agitated, it's probably your imagination.

At least the food's good.]

[Games]

[Kino actually does play, starting off with pachinko. The lights are a bit befuddling, and there's definitely some balls spent figuring out how it works, but soon enough Kino is operating the crank with swift and precise movements, occasionally glancing around again between plays. It seems the traveler's heart just isn't in the game...

Kino can probably be coaxed into other games; from the looks of it, they probably need something a little more engaging.]

[ Oh, Kinzie is here for getting dressed the hell up - I couldn't find one I liked, but she's in a black suit with a purple dress shirt and accents - and going to town on a casino. She spends a lot of time running around playing the games, because you can bring a Kinzie to a party but you can't make her talk to people. She does give some attention to the games of chance, but her serious efforts definitely go towards the arcade machines. She is very good at them. ]

C'mon, Pac-Man, you little fuck...

[ So that's going great.

Later on, though, she does sort of... wallflower at the dance floor, watching everyone else and sipping on some kind of Beverage. Come say hi? ]

DANCE FLOOR:
[The music is strange, to say the least, but there's a small mercy: the rental service had decent eveningwear. It became obvious the instant he stepped out from behind the screen that he was overdressed, but Eric's stubborn if he's nothing else. He's foregone the hat, obviously, and stands watching the dancers with no small amount of confusion. It's the right speed for some kind of two-step, or maybe a very fast tango, and yet....]

I have no idea what they're doing, but... care to join me anyway?


GAMING:
[With no money to lose, there's no reason to hesitate. The slot machines are the only thing he recognizes, so naturally he gravitates towards those... but then the arcade games catch his eye.]

All right, explain this to me as though I've never seen one before. Please?

[...says the man holding a plate with five slices of cake on it. They're five different kinds, at least?]

[It's so flavorful! And heaps above the diner food, but Moloch doesn't say that part because that'd be rude]

[A party like this one won't happen every week, he's sure of that]

[At least he's interpreting her glancing around as a sign she's not into the game. Moloch had never seen a pachinko before, so he's not sure if it's even supposed to be fun]

Obviously because she doesn't understand how it works, either, the only thing that matters is the thing she does know based on previous jukebox violence adventures? That's clearly this flashy noisy thing's only purpose??? Notably, she is running around in her usual dirty leather and armor, bow and arrows and all... This is a nice event, Clarisse, why are you like this.]

[ Maybe meat on meat action? He heads over to the meat section to start grabbing some of the steak. ]

[ Kinzie kind of... glances back, after a little while. ]

[ Kinzie shrugs ]

It's working out as okay as anything. Little guy's still going at it.

It's just a matter of figuring out how to properly plate your food.
