Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

I guess that makes sense.

...But I think I just thought of a way better game.

[Bakugou better think fast, because she's picking up the next ball to chuck it directly at him.]

[ Bakugou catches it, looks her right in the eye.

Then he takes a few steps back without breaking eye contact, and begins to toss it, but a moment before he does, lets loose an explosion that makes the ball speed right past her (over her head, or shoulder IDEALLY) and then crashes into one of the game machines behind them.

Probably either surprising someone or whatever, he doesn't care. ]

Looks like I missed.

[ Bakugou don't be a little shit right back. ]

[Was that supposed to be intimidating? Because it isn't.

Instead, Millium's eyes just widen, practically sparkling like a kid's on Erebonian Christmas morning.]

Did you just make that blow up?

Also he's feeling a little like it took some wind out of him, which is bothering him a bit. ]

Of course I fucking did. What do you think happened?

[She clasps her hands excitedly.]

[ He'll smirk, for but a moment. But then snatch up another ball because he does whatever the hell he wants and toss it before he throws it, copying the same motion.

This time it's over their heads, so it collides with the ceiling. This is fine.

Bakugou hated this place with a fervor, it's true. And he disliked being at parties even more. Still, something like this reminded him of a time when he was younger. When he was praised for his 'talent'. ]

How'd you like that, huh?

[ ... ]

That's just another reason you shouldn't fuck around with me, or otherwise that could've been your face. Got it?

[She clasps her hands behind her back, peering up at Bakugou with a smile.]

Gonna blow me up n' kill me? Well. That's gonna make Sarge real happy, I bet, but I didn't think that was a thing heroes did.

[ Threats were common and second nature to Bakugou. He didn't think twice before saying that he'd kill them, die, or otherwise when he felt the urge. Even if he wasn't going to act on them, and so his expression merely remains unpleasant, no sign of further thought upon this as the younger one of them speaks.

But he finds it strange she's so damn calm about this all. It's so damn annoying, especially the jab she made. ]

Don't fucking flatter yourself. I've decided you're not worth the time, so keep in mind not to piss around and get in my way. I have better things to do other than fufill some sick bastard's fantasy of a killing spree.

Ehehe. So~, I can just keep messing with you, then? 'Cause now that's a pretty empty threat!

[That smile doesn't budge an inch.]

[She is absolutely just messing around with him now. Is this better or worse than sitting on him?]

[ She seems to be right about that though since he doesn't do anything else... ]

I'm having fun, so that's all that matters to me.

[ He's not surprised at all she's like this. But that being said, Bakugou seems as irritated as he is usually. Freaking kids. He's never been good with them. ]

Whatever, I'm not here to 'have fun' or make friends, so I'm not going to continue wasting my time with you.

[ And with that, he turns on the heel of his foot, walking away. ]

[Bakugou, you're three years older than her. That's just a slightly older child. Like hiring a horse to look after a dog.

You don't get to claim adulthood, here.]
