Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[She crosses her arms, watching thoughtfully.]

Let's see what you've got.

[It clearly takes active effort on her part not to just chuck this thing at maximum velocity again. Still, she manages, and this time it just hits off the guard bumper of the 50 point hole and then bounces back down into the 30.

Progress.]

Boo... so close, too!

[robitussin]

[She keeps on watching, glancing back at the other girl during that disappointed statement.]

Some people would consider that a victory.

[doublelammy]

Yeah, that's true enough.

[Another toss, another 30.]

But it sucks to get so close and then not get it, y'know? But I guess that's the kinda thing that keeps you playing.

[She turns to Natalie.]

There's another thingy, here, you know. [Because there is never just a single skee-ball lane.] Wanna play once I'm done with this game? We can see who does better.

[robitussin]

[She glances at it, then shakes her head.]

I'm good. It's not really my thing.

[She is Anti-Fun, or something.]

[doublelammy]

[Pout...]

Are you always this much of a downer? C'mon, it's a party, you should be having fun!

You didn't even get dressed up. Least you can do is play some games.

[robitussin]

I was born a downer.

[It's incredibly deadpan, but she glances towards the machines regardless.]

If I play it once, will you be satisfied?

[doublelammy]

[Millium considers it briefly. Truth be told, she has an answer immediately, but it's more fun to keep Natalie guessing.]

Hmm~... yeah, I guess.

[robitussin]

[With a sigh and a nod, she picks up one of the skee balls, weighing it in her hand for a moment before giving it a toss down the track.

It hits near the top (very, very near the top) and rolls down to give her ten points. It's hard to say whether she's just not skilled or experienced with this kind of game, or whether she's simply not trying. Maybe both?]

[Millium eyes her. She's not sure which it is, but with Natalie, it doesn't seem too out of the question to assume the latter.]

C'mon~ at least put some effort into it. Then I won't even bug you for the rest of today!

[robitussin]

Is that a promise?

[The small tug at the edge of her lips that might be a smile is the only indication that she's joking.]

[doublelammy]

Yeah, sure.

[It's just one day of not-bothering, she can promise that easily enough.]

[robitussin]

[She takes another ball with a sigh, and this time it's clear that she's focused rather than apathetic, as she was a few moments ago.

Of course, it's still not an amazing throw because she really is inexperienced with this, but she gets 30 points rather than 10 this time.]

There. Happy?

[doublelammy]

[That's more like it! Millium can't fault inexperience, not when she's just learning herself.

She smiles.]

Yup! Ehehe. Was that so hard~?

[robitussin]

It was the worst thing I've ever had to do.

[Incredibly deadpan once more.]

[doublelammy]

[Millium just laughs at that, then sticks her tongue out at Natalie.

You know. Like a lady. You can dress her up, but you can't take her out.]
