Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[he opens his mouth to answer her, but then shuts it, just giving her a glare before he whips his head around again to focus on the machine.

Osomatsu is given a tray of balls and he begins to play. he's... not bad, his hands are definitely trained for this game, since he moves the handles at the right time, triggering the balls into higher-paying slots]

[Olympia watches quietly for a while, only commenting when it becomes clear that he knows what he's doing.]

[heh! he swells with pride, continuing to play until he runs out of balls. he didn't really win a jackpot, or anything, but the machine lit up a few times, and played some silly cartoon on the video monitor]

Yeah, pachinko's pretty fun! Though it does make me a little homesick.

Oh! It's, uh... Well, if we're in America now, it's on the opposite side of the earth. [geography!] So, I guess you could say it's really far from here.

[Osomatsu Jones. Isn't that the guy from that movie set inside Bill Murray's body?]

I don't know about America, either. But it probably isn't important now.

[now imagine Osomatsu voiced by Chris Rock]

Yeah, probably not. We might not even be in the same world I'm from. Which is scary t'think about...

[This is a disturbingly plausible mental image.]

Another planet. Possibly another universe.

Right! And that's freaky. [he moves to put more balls into the machine, so he can play another round] I mean. No offense to anyone else's world, or anything. But I'd rather be at home.

[carbide]

I think it's the same for most people. After all, the threat presented to us is the possibility of not being allowed to go home.

[relieable]

Yeah... Yeah...

[he almost forgot about that. he sighs, focusing on the balls again, but his mind's not in the game, he's moving on auto-drive]

If you dunno about America or Japan, you must be from some other world, huh? What's your world like?
