Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[Rose leaves the party fairly early on. She knows that once she starts having a good time, she probably won't be able to stop. Anyway, she's coming to the diner because it's a nice little place to hang out. #Justretiredoldladythings.

Once she comes inside and spots Jughead, she walks over and taps his shoulder lightly, trying to get his attention.]

Do you mind if I sit here with you? I always find myself getting very lonely when I eat alone.

[Jughead's immediately dragged out of his zone, but he can't be mad for the interruption when it's Rose..]

Oh- sure. [He makes a sweeping gesture to the seats at the table.] Happy to be a friend.

[duckrotation]

Thank you! [Rose sits down at the booth, taking a moment to talk to the waitress and order herself a cup of coffee before looking back at Jughead.]

You know, has anyone told you that you look like the boy from those old Archie comics? The one with the funny hat that's almost identical to yours.

The...Archie comics?

[Archie as in Archie Andrews? As in his friend Archie? Comics featuring his friend Archie Andrews?]

...No. I've never heard of them.

[duckrotation]

They were- or still are, about a kid by the same name. Archie Andes, was it? He was always getting into silly love triangle shenanigans with his friends Barbara and Valerie.

[She clears her throat.]

Though, I never really got into them. More of a SciFi fan myself.

[Archie, Barbara, Valerie. Archie, Betty, Veronica...

Actually, you know what? He's not thinking about this too hard. He can do without an existential crisis.]

SciFi?

[Now they're getting to his zone.]

You ever see 2001: A Space Odyssey?

Ohh, yes! I have. I unfortunately don't remember too much from it though... But I do remember it being a good movie!

[She thinks for a moment. Onto a different title.]

What do you think of Alien?

A masterpiece of the sci-fi horror genre. Right up there with The Thing.
