WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

[ Bolin's walking by when he catches sight of what's going on. He runs in, excited to see someone slide down the pole

it becomes obvious that's not what is happening. so he just stands there, wincing in sympathy pain. ]

[ An attempt was made, it just was not made well. Which is probably the pole's fault. Definitely, definitely the pole's fault and not at all his. ]

Yeah. Things could be worse, I could still be on that thing. [ He grins before sitting up. He's moving little shakily but, eh, he'll probably be fine. ] You here to check this place out too?

[ That's fine. An A for Effort!! And it's always the pole's fault. Never yours. ]

Well, I was just walking around when you got my attention. You think there might be stuff here?

[ Thank you Bolin, you Understand! In both ways that matter. ]

Uh, I dunno. There's a lot of stuff, but I doubt any of it is gonna help us get out of here.

Probably not, but might be useful all the same.

[unfashionably]

You've got a point. [ Since he's feeling better, he heads over to the firetruck and knocks a knuckle against it. ] If we wanted, we might be able to pile on this thing and take it out of the city. But something tells me takin' it out of here? Not gonna be that easy.

No guarantee it'll actually get us as far out as we wanna go either, but desperate times. [ Also he wouldn't wanna be on it??? Vehicles are no good. Also sry Mako, not that that happened yet. ]

Might get a little cramped, but we could all probably fit on it! [ rip mako ]

But I wouldn't want to risk it.

Can't say I blame you. Getting on somethin' this big is the last thing I wanna do. [ rip Which he waves off and moves on from. He looks at Bolin thoughtfully before speaking again. ]

"Earthbending," right? I think that's what the guestbook said.

Lemme guess, it's not something you heard of before?

You're right. I've got a guess though—is it magic?

[tuffguy]

I mean, not really? The first earthbenders learned how to do it from watching the badgermoles, so it's a part of nature.

What, and magic isn't? No idea why you guys use other names for it, but that? Definitely sounds like magic. Even down to the part about badgermoles.

[tuffguy]

Huh, I never thought about it like that... I guess with the Spirit World and the Avatar, it makes sense. [ bolin you're literally controlling earth ]

But yeah, there's earthbenders like me and my brother, Mako, is a firebender, but we're kind of special since our dad was from the Earth Kingdom and our mom from the Fire Nation.
