Week 2 - Trial

Week 2: Trial

The day still is April 13th. It's now the afternoon

Just like he said he would, the Sergeant went to everyone and told them to go to the courthouse. It wasn't difficult to find -- three of the tourists already knew where it was. What nobody, not even these three thought, was that the courtroom would be so much populated this time.

All of the visitors went into the only trial room in the courthouse. In the center there were several podiums, formed into a circle. Each podium had a small notepad and a pen, and a slot on the top part of its surface, presumably to insert your vote in it. Each podium has a small placard showing who it belongs to -- except for Moloch von Zinzer's podium. That one is draped with black velvet.

The tribunes at the sides of the courtroom are higher than where your podiums are. During the trial Sakura, Wayne and Millium attended those tribunes had been empty, but this time they're not. Quite a lot of the townspeople are sitting there, talking with each other and observing all of the tourists with different expressions. Confusion, disdain, shock, all kinds of emotions, all united by the feeling of morbid curiosity. What did the tourists do? What will happen? That's what they're wondering.

And above all of them, on the judge's seat...the Sergeant. None of the townspeople's paying attention to him, he's sitting on his chair and twirling the gavel in his hand. He still is very pleased a murder happened, and once it's time to start, he says:
"We have gathered today for the trial to find the culprit for the death of Moloch von Zinzer. It's your task to discuss, find the truth of this murder and bring it to light. For the sake of not letting you bunch run in circles, I have decided to lend you a hand and give you the five most likely suspects -- the culprit being one of them"

And indeed, five small photos appear on your podium.

"When it's time, you shall cast your vote. Write it on paper or put the photo inside the slot, I don't really care about how you do it. What matters is that you actually do it. With no further ado, I wish you good luck!"

The trial room went completely silent, all the visitors can feel the attentive stares of the townspeople gathered to watch. It's up to you now to find the culprit.

Let the trial begin.

[ I mean Bakugou was handling this seriously no doubt about it but now he just looks absolutely pissy now, even more than usual.

If Dazai is starting them off, he'll add to it. Also he has a mop now. ]

It looks like someone just fucking left a sticky mop hanging around in the diner for some stupid reason. Whatever the crappy clear liquid was happens to be concentrated on most of the handle and nowhere else. There's also some rust stuck to it and the mophead too.

...Could you tell what the liquid might have been?

...why not try giving it a sniff? There may be a telling odor to it.

Not even fucking sure what it is.

[ In his response to Natalie, but at the other man's suggestion, he grimaces.

However, he has the mop now...so, does the clear liquid smell or anything like that? ]
kingbomber: (too early for this shit)

[personal profile] kingbomber 2018-10-13 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It smells like fucking nothing.

Interesting. Even minor adhesives usually have a certain scent. This is something we’ll likely have to place if we want to solve this murder.

If it's that sticky, it may have left residue on the culprit's skin or clothes.

The motor oil as well may have left residue, if they were playing with that as well. It would be wise to check for either.

If it has rust on it, that could mean it was either at the junkyard at some point or came into contact with something from the junkyard.

I was thinking the same thing. It may have been kept for cleaning purposes— for a junkyard, I’m sure an old mop would do.
kingbomber: (Just speak the important words)

[personal profile] kingbomber 2018-10-13 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Like one of those cars?

[ A wild guess, but then again, he doesn't get why someone would bring a mop to the junkyard... ]
quickpersuader: (clouds)

[personal profile] quickpersuader 2018-10-13 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It might have been to clean something up in particular... unless there's also scratch marks on it.
kingbomber: (no matter how much progress you make)

[personal profile] kingbomber 2018-10-13 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't see any scratch marks on it, so I'm thinkin' someone used it for a clean up job too. Why fucking bother, though? To hide something?
quickpersuader: (the wind)

[personal profile] quickpersuader 2018-10-13 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
We still don't know what that liquid is. Maybe that's what they were trying to hide?

[Whatever it is...]
unfashionably: (a staring sting)

[personal profile] unfashionably 2018-10-13 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you sure it was a liquid?
kingbomber: (that are on your mind)

[personal profile] kingbomber 2018-10-13 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd assumed it was. What else could've left a residue like that, huh?

[ He sounds kind of curious about that, at least. ]
unfashionably: (a side-eye sting)

[personal profile] unfashionably 2018-10-13 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
No idea, but it probably isn't important. All that matters is we found a mop, so I guess that means somebody cleaned something up.
