WEEK 3: April 15th - April 19th

Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[She pauses, looking at the top she's holding and then holding it up in front of Natalie.]

Until they write more articles about us stealing all their shit...

Nah, I'm good. I'm not much for bows or anything like that.

[doublelammy]

Well, yeah, but we're kinda doomed on that front anyway. Least they still feed us.

Aww, why not? But okay. [She's not putting it back, though.] But fiiiine, fine, I guess I can look for me... um...

[She's toddling off... toward the section of frilly undergarments. While similar items might be useful, Millium please you are a child]

We're not doomed. We just have to be, like, model citizens or whatever.

[Which is absolutely not happening.]

Just not my— [Thing, she's about to say, before she sees where Millium is heading.] ...No!

[doublelammy]

Ehehe... have you seen everyone here?

[Seriously, that's not happening in a million years.]

Huh? Why not~?

[There's something to her tone of voice that indicates she knows exactly why not, but she puts on her best innocent face.]

[robitussin]

I'll just be a model citizen enough to make up for everyone else.

[Also incredibly unlikely.]

You know exactly why!

[doublelammy]

[That's enough to give Millium pause, and she turns around to eye Natalie.]

...I mean, I don't wanna dump on your dreams or anything, but, uh... have you seen Clarisse?

[But in regards to the undergarments:]

No one's gonna see 'em anyway!

[robitussin]

Unfortunately, yes. It's hard not to see her.

[Regardless...]

That doesn't mean you should be wearing them!

[doublelammy]

Yeah, uh. You could be a literal sparkling angel sent from Aidios herself and I don't think you'd be able to cover up Clarisse.

[but yes regardless]

You don't let me have any fun...!

[robitussin]

Clarisse hasn't been arrested or been photographed digging through trash. I mean, she's awful, but she's shockingly not most of the reason people are starting to hate us.

[As much as she loathes having to say that.]

Yeah, that's my job. Professional fun preventer.

[doublelammy]

Yet. I'm just waiting for the paper to report all the dead pigeons in the park...

[She has her priorities, all right? Murdering pigeons is way worse than breaking and entering or digging through trash.]

Geez... fiiiine.

What would you have me wearing, then?

[robitussin]

If it was going to, don't you think it would have already? Gotta say, though, I hope she does something serious enough that they have to lead her away in handcuffs. That'd be hilarious to see.

[There's a pause, though, with no small amount of surprise.]

...You want me to pick something out for you?

[doublelammy]

I dunno, the newspaper guy seems to have some really skewed priorities. [And that's HER saying that.] But yeah, I hope so, too. She'd be so mad.

[And to that surprise:]

Yeah. Why not? We're here, let's do this together!

[robitussin]

We could stand outside her jail cell and laugh.

[Natalie, please. She gives another pause, though; she seems hesitant, but she isn't refusing, either.]

Well, what kind of stuff are you looking for...? Dresses, tops, something else?

[doublelammy]

Sounds like a plan to me!

[Millium, please.]

Anything, really. Just lookin' to not constantly have to do laundry.

[robitussin]

...Okay.

[She glances around for a few moments before heading towards a dress, holding it up once she has it.]

Something like this...? I'm not sure if it would go with your hair, though.

[doublelammy]

Hm...

I like it! I do usually go with blue, buuuut I wore a pretty similar color for school n' I think I made it work!

[Success!]

[robitussin]

[There's a sense of mild relief as she hands the dress to her, nodding.]

Okay. Well... Good. I'm glad you like it.

[doublelammy]

[Millium takes it gratefully.]

Thank you~!

...Can I find you something? No bows.

[robitussin]

You don't have to. I mean... Only if you want to.

[doublelammy]

I want to! That's why I'm asking.

[Smile!]

Any other big 'no's?

[robitussin]

[A pause, as she thinks.]

Nothing too bright. Um... No glitter?

[doublelammy]

[Nod, nod.]

Dresses: yes, no? Since you didn't like the one from before...

[robitussin]

...Probably a no. I only wear them when I have to.

[doublelammy]

'Kay. Top it is, then!

[And off she goes, pawing through racks again!

She'll be gone for a few minutes, although she can occasionally be heard humming to herself in thought throughout the store. After a bit, though:]

Found something~! [And she holds up a grey top.] Whaddaya think of this?
