WEEK 3: April 15th - April 19th

Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[She takes a spoonfull of the bubblegum-butterscotch mixture and pops it into her mouth.

She looks thoughtful for a moment.]

...Hmm. Mira might've been right about this one.

Oh. She was here the first week. She was the one who hid the bullet in the ice cream.

[aka THE MURDERER]

She said she picked bubblegum 'cause it was the worst.

[HIGH PRAISE...?]

[Osomatsu stops mid-bite and stares.

he slowly puts down his spoon]

And I dunno. Like, it's definitely not the worst thing I've ever tasted? 'Cause like, I ate food at Garrelia Fortress, n' you don't get much worse than military food, but...

[MILLIUM THAT IS NOT EVEN A LITTLE THE POINT HERE]

[UHHH. Osomatsu moves his hand and sort of places it over her bowl]

You probably shouldn't eat it, if you don't like it. [in case there are more bullets in there]

But that'd be a waste...

[Sigh.]

Ehhh, you're probably right. It's not a waste if it's bad.

[he pulls his hand away]

You can have some of mine, if you want. I don't have butterscotch or bubblegum.

[doublelammy]

Ehhh? No, that's okay! My other side here is chocolate, I can just eat that.

[Who puts bubblegum and chocolate ice cream in the same sundae]

'Sides, I can always just buy more! Infinite money n' all that.

Yeah, you're right! I still am worried Sarge is gonna make us pay it back, though.

[doublelammy]

Yeah... I don't see how he would, though.

[A pause, and then a devillish little grin.]

We can "pay him back" after this is all over, though, that's for sure.

[ah, Millium. Osomatsu truly loves you]

You, uh... You got something in mind?

[doublelammy]

I~'m thinkin' about a good ol' one-two from Lammy on my end! You got any good ideas~?

I mean, if I had my way, I would beat the tar outta him. We could all take turns, yanno? Some of us aren't as strong as other people, but just getting a chance to punch him in his weird shadow-face would be good enough for me.

[he notes cheerfully, while eating more ice cream]

Ehehehe... now that sounds like a fun time!

[A nom of agreement.]

He totally has at least that much comin'!

[ah, it's nice to enjoy ice cream while talking about beating up some dude! Osomatsu hasn't really laid out all his feelings for the Sergeant to other people, but he feels that Millium is a safe place and that she will appreciate his ideas]

At least. [lady laughing with salad emote] And, hey, if someone else decides they want to end his suffering, I'd be fine with that, too.

[Osomatsu's feelings are 100% correct.]

Yep, yep! I'm not too~ jazzed about the idea of killin' someone, myself, but y'know... if it's Sarge, and someone else were to do somethin'... I guess I could forgive them!

[A smile entirely too sweet for this conversation.]

[he feels the same way, and he nods to show his agreement]

He just needs to learn to stop picking on people. I dunno what his beef with us is, but we didn't deserve this. Maybe if we figure out what his ultimate goal is, we can find a way t'beat 'im.

[doublelammy]

Right, right.

People keep sayin' he has his "orders" or whatever, so there's probably someone past him we're gonna have t'beat the snot out of too... 'cause man, I thought Gramps had some weird ideas sometimes, but this is just way too much.

You think there's someone who's got more power over him? Like, a bigger bad?

Almost always is, in my experience.

'Sides. There are ranks above Sergeant, right?

[relieable]

I mean, I guess. i dunno much about army ranks, though.

[doublelammy]

I can't say I know too much, either. I don't work with the army, so most of what I know is just kinda stuff I've picked up... but I'm pretty sure it goes higher than him.

You'd hafta be a real sicko to come up with all of this just on your lonesome, anywho. Which, he totally is, but that doesn't match up with what some've the people who've met with him have said about how he's different when you catch 'im alone.

I haven't gone t'see him myself yet, so I only know from, like, Sakura n' stuff... but just like. Nicer? N' like he doesn't really wanna do this.

I dunno if that's true or Sakura just doesn't want him to be evil, though.

[And that's said not disparagingly, but lovingly. Millium likes Sakura quite a bit, and Sakura's heart is in the right place... but.]
