Week 3: Investigation

This week's cloudy, dreary weather culminates in a thunderstorm, lasting most of the previous night. That means when you awake this morning, the town is damp and dark. It's not just the weather that gives off an oppressive feeling, though. The air, it's heavy.

The Sergeant told you, after all. This is your last day to prevent your deepest, darkest secrets from being revealed.

There's no immediate evidence that anyone's followed his orders, though. Maybe you'll get through this week without anymore unnecessary death.

Or, maybe not. Maybe you should take a look around town, just to be sure.

[ There's something bad in there.

To be specific, the place looks completely wrecked. One hell of a fight happened, and it'd be hard to name a place in this poor church that was untouched. ]

This wasn't another vandalism quest... was it?

It looks like there was a fight here.

That's a lot of damage for a fight... Someone would have to have super-strength or maybe explosives for this....

[ And god, she doesn't like the sound of that. She'll stick close to Odasaku as he explores the inside of the church. ]

There are a few individuals that fit those requirements so let’s be careful shall we?

[He’s just going to watch out for you both okay? Okay.]

Some of them could make fire. Or explosions.... I just hope they’re alright. [ he doesn’t mind having her close. if anything, he’ll take her hand to make sure that she knows that he’s there for her. ]

If its explosives, we might want to be a bit more careful. Might still be something there.

[Kino eyes the damage, but presses forward, searching for signs of a corpse.]

[ Well, there's a lot going on here. Jughead's got the back of the church, where poor Jesus lays in pieces. You can push forward, more into the sanctuary, toward the altar and the like. Or, there are a few short hallways off the sanctuary that also look like they've seen better days. ]

[Let's check the altar before we get to the halls.]

[ It's...kind of a mess. More holy imagery, completely destroyed...but no bodies. ]

[Is this one big rubble fest or is there anything notable to be seen?]

[ Well, there's a lot notable, and it's less a rubble fest as it is a destroyed pews, shattered glass, broken candles...fest. Particularly, that Jesus statue? It's completely blown to smithereens. Watch your feet, ceramic is everywhere. ]

[Yeah that’s the guy. Any blood near JC?]

[Olympia's showing up late to the party, but it certainly doesn't take her long to notice this, at least.]

Someone destroyed Jesus.

[So it was obviously a fight - is there blood spatter?]

[ Surprisingly, it doesn't seem like there's blood anywhere that you can immediately see. ]

So obviously that statue of Jesus is... in a condition. Anything else seem like it was deliberately desecrated, or just the statue?]

Was someone looking for something...? [Franciscus enters through the door to avoid getting too much debris dust on himself, Gerard hovering outside.]

But hey, it looks like its over. Whatever it was. He's going to slink in just enough that he can't be seen from the outside. Cause that could be bad. Is everything just smashed. ]

[ Pretty much, though there's something else going on. You can inquire more about the state of everything later, after making sure...no one's died. ]
