Fourth Week

A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?

Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.

The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:

The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[robitussin]

[Natalie comes across her as she's working. She's holding a pair of jeans, but she sets them down as she approaches.]

You need any help, kid?

[clearities]

Ah-- [ She smiles a little proudly of herself when she sees another person. ] Natalie-san! If you want to help, I won't say no. They say two heads are better than one, after all.

[robitussin]

You can just call me Natalie, seriously. It's okay.

[She nods, though, but as she begins...]

I had a question for you, actually, if you don't mind.

[clearities]

Natalie, then. [ It's so strange to refer to people without honorifics, but she's trying. ] But what's the question...?

[robitussin]

Right. Um, when I was talking with Millium last week, she mentioned that you told her that the Sergeant told you about Rean's memories.

[A beat.]

I was just wondering if he told you anything else.

[clearities]

He did, actually... [ Her voice drops a little bit and her gaze lowers. But she'll continue cleaning as she speaks, a way to distract herself. ] Um, he said that the others that were with out group are still in the town. What happened with Rean-san's memories happened with the others too... and that he decided that the three of us, Wayne-san, Millium-chan and myself were worthy of a second chance to go back home. And he got angry at me when I talked to him about choices. He said that "life is a series of events you have to go through". And that... people didn't have a choice.

[robitussin]

...He was right that you deserve a second chance.

[Still, she thinks all of that over, filing it away with everything else she knows about this place.]

He's a jerk, as usual. Is that all he said?

[clearities]

Mmhm. That's all he told me last Thursday, at least. That's why I decided to check the new places today to see if I could find anyone...

[robitussin]

That's a good plan.

[Still, she frowns.]

Do you have any idea why he'd keep the others here instead of letting them go home?

[clearities]

I'm not sure, but one of my guesses is that... even though he said that he'd send us all back home afterwards, what if he actually doesn't know how?

[robitussin]

[She tilts her head.]

What do you mean? He got us here, right?

[clearities]

Um... well, I'm not really familiar with this sort of magic, but it could be that he has the ability to bring people here but not the ability to bring them back where they came from. I could be wrong, though.

[robitussin]

[After a moment, she nods, but...]

Can you do me a favor?

[clearities]

[ There's a bit of a curious look that Sakura gives her but she does nod, a little nervous. ] I don't mind... but what is it?

[robitussin]

I don't think it's a bad theory, but... Maybe keep it quiet for now? Just - people might not react well to that idea. You know.

[clearities]

... [ Sakura finds herself a little quiet for a good few moments, mulling it over in her head before she finally answers, simply: ] Okay, I won't. Promise.

[robitussin]

...Thanks. Seriously.

[There's some honest relief there, before she looks around the place.]

Where were you planning on starting? With the cleaning, I mean.

[clearities]

[ Sakura shakes her head, trying her best to smile. ]

It's no problem, really. [ She means it. ] I was going to clean the walls first, since they're really dirty... and then I wanted to see if we could handwash some of the clothes.

[robitussin]

Did you bring enough for two, or should I go grab some?

[Cleaning supplies, she means.]

[clearities]

I didn't think that anyone else was going to show up to help, so...

[ Yeah.

We're probably going to have to grab more cleaning supplies. ]

Um, should I go with you to grab some?

[robitussin]

[She shrugs.]

Only if you want to. I can get them on my own, it isn't a big deal or anything.

[clearities]

Then... [ She thinks about it a bit, before nodding. ] I'll come with you! It's better to go with someone than to go alone, right?

[robitussin]

...Okay.

[She doesn't voice it, but there's definitely a tinge of gratitude in her expression.

With that, though, she's heading for the door.]

[clearities]

[ She does follow behind Natalie, humming rather pleasantly. ] Um... do you want to talk while we walk?

[robitussin]

[She responds with a shrug, continuing on.]

If you want, I guess. You got anything in mind?
