Fourth Week

A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?

Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.

The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:

The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

I don’t suppose you have any theories?

I'm still stuck on it being something about societies, but that might just be my bias. When Kino-kun said the Sergeant had reacted to the idea of people being simply happy it did validate it though...

And like... There are three people from Dabi-san's world with three different roles in their society. From what he told me, their world is also one that is heavily in conflict about how it should be run.

So maybe the Sergeant just tried a very far spread of approaches to living in groups?

[She pauses, thinking that over, before she glances towards Cian with renewed interest.]

...Maybe you're onto something. I mean, most of what he wants us to do is disrupt this community and do horrible things to each other. Maybe the people most likely to do that are people who can't reconcile their differences, and - that would start at a societal level, right? Like, how something that seems normal to one person here seems completely awful to another.

[integratedsoul]

[ ... oh. Cian looks surprised for a moment, then she nods with emphasis. ]

Definitely. Most everyone here would look awful to a member of my society and I can only imagine the same applies vice versa. You were horrified by my world when we first met after all.

By having us all meet, we really get to see extremes that might seem threatening and scary to us.

And... More than that, it would affect how we all respond to all the offers he gives us to try to get us to kill, right?

Mhm... it makes it harder for us to communicate and resist, I think.
