Fourth Week

A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?

Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.

The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:

The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[ A-ahaha..... Uhm, yes. Awkward smiling. ]

We did, because we were committed to finding the truth. It was self-defense, but I won't deny that the damages are regrettable. We've been trying to clean up, but there's a lot that is impossible to restore...

[cartesio]

Right...

[He sighs]

I guess you do try to find the truth and are committed to justice...with what the court paperwork says and all...

We all wanted to find the truth about the murder, at least.

It's been... challenging. Most of us haven't met before we started staying in the same motel, so we're not really a unified group, you know? Circumstance has brought us together and we're trying to work out how to coexist with each other and the townspeople as well.

It's.... not been going as well as I'd want. [ Understatement of the year. ]

[cartesio]

That sure is a way to put it.

[ He frowns and...can't help but shake his head. ]

Just how do any of you plan on taking responsibility for the actions of violence against the town, if that's the case?

[integratedsoul]

Clean-up is the least we can do, so it's what we've been starting with.

In my hometown, I used to volunteer for social work in my time off. Cartesio luckily doesn't seem to be in dire need of charity, but I'll gladly join any existing community efforts to better the community.

You wouldn't happen to know of a charity that needs helping hands?

[cartesio]

Joanne Jensen is our local charity head... Though I'm not sure if she'd want anything to do with the ones responsible for so much damage to our town.

Asking doesn't hurt, right?

I'm not a fighter, I couldn't function as a security guard even if I tried, so that's the best way I can try and make up for what's happening.

[cartesio]

You'd have to get her address yourself, if you can ask around. I'm afraid... I'm not at liberty to give anyone else's out.

[integratedsoul]

[ She nods, still smiling. ]

Of course, privacy is important.

[ Nevermind how her tongue stumbles over the p-word a little. This feels so dirty to say, but she knows it's appropriate for this time... ]
