Fourth Week

A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?

Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.

The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:

The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

He gave me a note that told me I could go home if I survive. It’s not signed, but I think it’s in his writing.

If you can't prove that's from him, it doesn't look like much more than a prank.

Guess it does. Though, aren’t you pointing a lot of fingers at us, too? You just said you’ve never spoken to the Sergeant, so why aren’t you askin’ him stuff?

[cartesio]

The man's hard to get in touch with...and he hasn't been caught red-handed at the scene of any crimes, like any of you have.

[relieable]

[SQUINTS]

I’d like t’hear his side of the story, if you could catch ‘im. [a slight pause, he’s thinking about his words] You came here to ask us questions, and we’re doin’ our best to answer them. Most of us are all pointing fingers at that guy, saying he’s behind all the shit goin’ on here. Doesn’t it make you wanna seek out the truth? Or are you only interested in giving the townsfolk a slanted view?

[cartesio]

I- I don't appreciate anyone questioning my journalistic integrity, excuse me! Before all this, the man was just minding his business, a little antisocial, but not involved in murder, or property damage, or anything like that.

Are you saying I should go and harass someone who could be completely innocent? Is that your idea of journalism?

[relieable]

[geez...]

I’m just sayin’ when so many people are pointing a finger at one person, it’s weird. If I was a reporter, I’d wanna check every angle, yanno? Maybe he is innocent, but don’t you wanna prove that to this town?

[playing devil’s advocate here is going to wind up killing someone, isn’t it]

What I want is for the town to be peaceful once more.

[ He's taking notes again. Hasn't even touched his pizza since getting into all this. ]

I can see that with all of this going on, that's going to take a lot more work than I'd thought.

[relieable]

[he looks down]

...The Sergeant said we’ll be here for a couple months still. [at least with this group] I know that we’re all gonna try our best t’not get into trouble. I want this town to be peaceful again, too. It doesn’t deserve this.

[cartesio]

That much we can agree on, Mr. Matsuno.
