Fourth Week

A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?

Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.

The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:

The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

Yokohama...is a lively city. There's a lot of violence and strangeness underneath it, but most people can still go about their lives normally, unknowing of it.

[ he nods ]

It's beautiful. It has tall buildings and a beautiful bay where lots of ships come in.

[quickpersuader]

So it's a port city?

[Kino offers a smile in return.]

Tell me more about it.

[odasaku]

It is. The port is mostly controlled by the mafia, though. Hence the name of the organization-- Port Mafia.

[ he shrugs, not finding anything about it too negative. ]

Though I said that it has many tall buildings, I have to say that my favorite places are those that aren't that easy to see. The small stores and restaurants...I like those more.

[quickpersuader]

Those are usually the places I like most when I go to a new country. But... if I want to find them, that means finding someone who knows where to direct me.

[And not everyone wants to lead the tourist to such places.]

[odasaku]

People hold on to those places like well-hidden secrets. You'd have to get close enough to them in order to find them.

[quickpersuader]

Or find the right person. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

[Kino's fine with it either way.]

If someone went to your town, what places would you recommend?

[odasaku]

The beach. There's not many stars due to light pollution but...it's just really calming, when you sit down in a place farther from the usual places. Around the pier there's also a r--

[ oda stops in his tracks, as if realizing what he's about to say. then, he shakes his head ]

There's also a small, hidden bar about half an hour away. I don't think they'd let you in but...that place has a lot of memories, too.

[quickpersuader]

[She notices the pause, but doesn't comment on it.]

Do you mind if I ask you what kinds of memories?

[odasaku]

It's where Dazai and I used to go for drinks after work.

[quickpersuader]

I see. So it's where you went to relax...?

[odasaku]

[ he nods ] Exactly.

[quickpersuader]

I see. Are they happy memories?

[odasaku]

Happy...?

[ oda blinks, unsure of how to classify those memories. he had never thought about it until now, what those memories meant to him. after all, it was just...idle chatter, wasn't it?

until mimic came on the table, that's all it used to be. but... ]

Yeah. I wouldn't wanna forget them.

[quickpersuader]

I think that's good, then. A small place with happy memories... Things like that are very precious, in my opinion.
