Fourth Week

A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?

Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.

The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:

The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[ Keith's good mood is startling, to be honest, but it does convince Cian that despite the intimidating size, Cosmo is not dangerous.

She'll squat down a little to meet him at eye level and holds out her hand. ]

Nice to meet you, Cosmo!

[Cosmo sniffs the hand, then ducks his head under it for head nuzzles.]

I think he wants his ears scratched.

[Keith sits on the grass resting his chin in his hand as he watches.]

If he gets to be a bit much, just tell him to back off. He'll understand.

[ Cian can gladly deliver ear-scritches. And.... uwaaaah, Cosmo is so fluffy?! Cian is absolutely delighted. What started as a polite and hesitant approach to the wolf very quickly turns into cuddles. ]

Don't worry, I had a big dog when I was little, I know how to handle it!

[Ah, that's -- actually kind of nice to see. People appreciating Cosmo and being delighted by his presence? Cosmo's a great wolf and Keith is quite earnestly proud.]

Cosmo's not exactly a dog, heh.

[But would you really be able to see that in his behavior right now? Cosmo's raising his head up, eyes closed and clearly pleased with these cuddles.]

I was pretty worried about him. [...] Still am.

[ It feels like a dog, it acts like a dog, it's a dog. Everything else is technicalities! Cosmo is a good boy and that is what actually counts. ]

It's hard not to worry, when we're all here...

[Just be careful not to get too much wolf slobber on you, Cian. Keith ain't doing your laundry.]

It's more than that. Cosmo's supposed to be able to teleport. I think the fact that he can't do it anymore is upsetting him a little.

Oh...

[ Cian's just going to give Cosmo a good look and ruffle his ear some here. ]

So the Sergeant even messed with your abilities... He's really thorough.

[ She's addressing the wolf here, but of course the statement is meant for his human just as much. ]

[Cosmo's looking disconcerted through the petting as this particular conversation goes on. Looks like he understands quite a bit of what's being said and all.]

It's okay, buddy. [That's Keith talking to Cosmo. Reassuring the space wolf yes.] I promise I'll get you back to normal.

[To Cian:]

Do you talk much to the Sergeant?

No.... I don't know what to say to him. Actually, I'm also just a little afraid to talk to him at all.

[ So much for showing her courage and all. ]

Do you?

[marmoron]

[A nod.]

He says funny things from time to time.

[A beat.]
