Final Investigation

It's Friday. It's the last day marked in your calendar. Presumably, the few without medals will leave at some point today, and the rest...you're not sure what'll happen to you, but it'll be what the Sergeant wants.

How to defy him when you have so little time left?

Whatever plan you had today, it's guaranteed it won't go like expected. Early in the morning, the ground rumble slightly, and something pops in the sky. Fireworks! One after another, blasts from firework spread through the sky. Many of the residents of Cartesio come to the street, gathering and making all the noise they can.

It's a very radical change of behavior, compared to the once peaceful demeanor they had, and then the hostile behavior showed towards the visitors, but now they're making hubbub and causing disorder. Everyone does it spontaneously, and nobody's approaching the motel at all.

At least none of the townspeople.

Not long after that started, you may hear the noise of horns and whistles from vehicles, right outside the motel. Go take a look?

...Okay, I'm immediately concerned.

[But she's heading outside the motel to take a look regardless.]

[Go take a look, everyone! It'll be just fine! Right?

Turns out it's all right. In front of the motel, there are a few vehicles awaiting. A fire truck, a couple patrol cars, and a pair of normal cars, all waiting.

Driving there's people you know. Nanette is handling one of the patrol cars, Davis holds the steering wheel of one of the cars, and with them, gathered onto the vehicles, are a lot of people you know.

All of the mock week characters are there]

Get over here already! We're getting you out.

[You're not sure you know who said that, but doesn't sound like it's a bad idea to do as they say]

[clearities]

[ SHE'S EXTREMELY SHOCKED and it's obvious by the sound of her hoeeeee but also there's traces of relief in her expression too because the ones from her group are safe. ] Wait, really?! [ she doesn't move just yet though, keeping a little cautious ]

[cartesio]

Yes, really. Get in here.

[Get into those vehicles, everybody. You're getting out of Cartesio]

[Kino is also surprised, staring at the vehicles in silence for a moment before looking to the others.

Well. Are we doing this?]

[ honestly Sakura is echoing the same exact thing. are we??? doing this???? ]

Kino.

[He's also looking suspicious as hell of everything going on, but... his voice is low. Doesn't want to be overheard.]

You're armed, right?

[quickpersuader]

[She just gives a quick nod. Got the three guns on her hips and back and some kind of box in hand.]

[One of the people in the patrol cars -- Jake Peralta -- beckons to them]

None of us are sure what's going on, but you gotta trust us, okay? First we get you to a safe place, then we deal with whatever's going on.

[clearities]

Ah-- [ there's the recognition in Sakura's eyes of that exact face, a slight gasp that causes her to pause, just slight. ] If you're saying to trust you guys... then. Mm. Let's go, as long as we don't leave any of the others behind. [ she wants to believe in them. that wherever they end up at, they'll still be able to save the others. ]

[relieable]

[looks like Keith and Sakura are on board, so he's going to go, too. he trusts them both]

If you're going, I'm going, too.

[marmoron]

We're ot leaving anyone behind, Sakura.

[Firm. They're not leaving their dead behind,gdit.]

We're coming back for them.

[He's got his weapons with him as well, so.]

Let's get going then.

[Another nod, and she faces the townspeople properly.]

...Okay. Let's go.

...This feels suspiciously convenient.

[someone please tell her to get in the car she's Paranoid]

Come on, don't dawdle! That isn't going to last forever!

[They point at the hubbub from deeper into the town]

[what's, uh... what's going on deeper into the town? can he see it from here? he just wants to know what they are running from, and if it's a good idea]

[It's a lot of people, a big crowd, shouting and causing all the noise possible. Doesn't seem like there's any danger or anything.

It's more like they're trying to attract attention. Judging by Nanette and others' words, it's the Sergeant's attention they're trying to attract]

[Okay what the ever living fuck is going on now. Keith's standing his ground with Cosmo at his side, staring at Nanette and her crew.]

...Where are you taking them and why?

[cartesio]

[ She looks him dead in the eye. ]

Out. You wanted me to do something, Keith. It's long overdue, but...I'm doing it. We all are. We're getting you out.

[marmoron]

[OVerdue is one word for it, now that they're down to 7 people, but he's not going to argue. He's listening, seems vaguely surprised but...]

But where are you taking us?

[That's encouraging right? Shifting from them to us. But then again, he;s not sure if that really matters.]

[cartesio]

Wherever we can. None of us have been out of town before, but this is the best we can do.

[ She looks toward the chaos the other townsfolk are causing. ]

Whatever we do, we have to do it, now. I get the feeling that...Sergeant won't give you long, once he figures out what we're doing.

[marmoron]

[Just "out" then. He's seen where Cartesio is on a GPS -- nothing around for hundreds of miles. There's a lot of ways he can see this going fucking wrong and not a whole lot of ways this is going to go right, but....]

Fine.

[Let's just view this as a matter of buying some time then rather than actually getting out. Kino's armed, he's armed.]

[She glances his way when she hears him say that, giving him a nod.]

Yeah.

[Or as close to "ready" as you can be in a situation like this anyway.]
