Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

[ Not even going to check to see if she's telling the truth. That means reading and NOPE not going to read ]

Umm... I think there was a guy here last week that was really into the whole shark thing. But he's gone now, so they're gonna stop the shark alert, since there weren't any sharks.

But but but! That's like, the only fun part of the entire newspaper! So you see why I gotta save it, right?

[ Does he really want to know about the shark fetish... ]

Guess it'll keep them on their toes, huh?

[ He approves. ]

Alright, let's see what the hell we can get then. Maybe the person at the desk will have scissors?

[doublelammy]

[Does anyone truly understand the sharknado?]

Right!

Ooh, that's a good idea. I wanna poke at the storage closet, too...

Huh? There's a storage closet?

[ That's news to him... he should really get to know his environment better. Hopefully he doesn't get lost in the closet thanks to her ]

[doublelammy]

Yup, upstairs on the other corner than the laundry room.

[...Did he know there was a laundry room?]

[ He's learning new stuff every day...

but he doesn't know how to operate one of those so ]

Huh? There's a laundry room?

[Oh, Nine...]

Yeah. Upstairs, where our rooms are, in the back corners. There's a laundry room in one corner and the other one's a storage closet.

You reaaaally need to start poking around with things that aren't little girls. Who knows what all you're missin' out on, y'know~?

[linearcrash]

Hey, maybe the little girls are a handful.

[ He was knocking around upstairs, but that's the whole reason he wound up distracted. There were a lot of people who didn't appreciate him trying to get answers. Rubbing the back of his head. ]

So... the back corners?

[doublelammy]

Hey, now! I'm at least an armful.

[...how is that an improvement?]

Yuppers, back corners.

D'you wanna head up there now? I was gonna poke in storage anyway.

[linearcrash]

[ Hmmm ] Maybe two, yo.

[ Totally an improvement. ]

Sure, why the hell not. Lead the way.

[ He has free time. ]

[doublelammy]

[She grins, appearing to like this answer.]

Now you're talkin'.

C'mon!

[And off she goes. Not as quickly as she tore off on their first day, though, so Nine should be able to keep up without getting too lost.

Eventually, they'll reach the second floor of the motel, at which point Millium trots to the end of the hallway.

She pushes open the door to the laundry room, standing aside as if to show Nine.]

See? We have laundry.

[ He does follow after her and then looks inside of the door. ]

Hey, I think you could probably fit into one of those.

[ Wash your kids. ]

So...do you know how to even work one of those?

[ JUST ASKING for reasons. ]

Prolly. That could either be really fun or a really bad idea...

[Calling Millium's corpse in a washing machine now.]

Nope! Those kindsa things are still pretty new in the Empire. But I'm gonna press all the buttons til I make it work!

[PROBLEM SOLVING]

Never had to do my own laundry before...

[ Some day someone is going to find them trying to see what can fit in there... He walks in to investigate further. Oh hey, soap. ]

Think it needs the whole thing of soap in there?

[doublelammy]

Me either. Even back at school, we were just having Sharon do it for us by the time I got in...

[She toddles in after him, examining the box of soap. Hm.]

...I don't think Sharon used the entire box when she did laundry... but we should totally try.

I wanna see how many bubbles it makes!

[These two are going to destroy the motel and it hasn't even been a week yet.]

Yeah, there was staff that did it where I'm from. And then before that, someone in the science division took care of it, yo.

[ Who or what? Nine doesn't know... Shaking the box and then giving a grin. ]

Let's do it.

[ DUMPING THE WHOLE THING IN THERE ]

Hey, think there's any dish soap any where?

[doublelammy]

[Sharks can happen later, destroying the motel needs to happen now. This is very important, and Millium is willing to completely forget her mission for this.]

Yessss! [She's practically sparkling with excitement.]

Umm. Maybe in town somewhere? The diner prolly has some. I dunno if they'd give it to us, though.

[linearcrash]

Yeah, they should! Maybe if we buy some pies, too?

[ A pause as he looks at the machine. ]

Should we start this as some kind of baseline? [ So they can see how much bubbles it makes without it... then again WITH it? ]

[doublelammy]

Yeah, maybe!

[Wait hang on a second did he say pie.]

Wait, the diner has pie?!

[NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. THERE IS SUGAR. MUST ACQUIRE]

And bacon. [ That's important too ] The pie is pretty great, yo.

[ Food is very important to him ]

Let's grab some while we're there.


[ She will still have to lead the way cause he will get them lost ]

[Gasp.]

The diner has pie and bacon?!

[There is no time to waste. She grabs Nine's hand and tears out of the building toward the diner, dragging him along behind her.]

Let's go!!

[New mission: Acquire pie and bacon. Nothing else matters.]

[ BYE MOTEL. Hey what if they combine pie with the bacon?

He might try it. Go ahead and judge but the apple pie is dying to have bacon added to it ]

[This is a no-judgement zone as far as food goes.

Well. Other people might judge, but Millium won't. Millium is down to try that. Hell, she might put the bacon in the lemon pie, too, just to try it.]
