Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

[Not... entirely sure which to go with here, but let's try to be polite.]

[ Given she's more than a decade older than this child, 'Miss Reikado' would probably be the proper thing to say, but... ]

The former is fine!

[ They're in the same situation and also in a bizarre world where none of the social rules Cian knows make any sense, so... why not be familiar.

Cian speeds over to Kino so they can fall in step as they continue towards the motel. ]

Are you settling in yet?

Miss Cian, then.

[All cultures have their own preferences; Kino just tries to abide by them when possible.]

And... sort of. But I'm not sure that's a good thing.

What about you?

I'm not panicking every time I go outdoors anymore, so I count that as a personal victory.

[ She laughs a little at herself and her own adjustments troubles. ]

I still think everything is weird though.

It could be...

[Hard to make a judgment call on that though, Kino's seen some strange things.]

It seems peaceful for now, at least.

A little too peaceful, it feels like...

That's weird for me to say, when my world is what it is, but... This is like our past and the past is supposed to be so much more corrupt and deplorable than this.

Oh? What do you mean by that?

[integratedsoul]

People are supposed to be totally motivated by their own profit, like... greedy. There's meant to be crime, I am very sure.

This town is just... nice.

[quickpersuader]

You don't think they're selfish at all?

[integratedsoul]

Not really... I mean, I don't know, I just don't see them doing anything wrong. They're so normal.

[quickpersuader]

There are legal ways of being "selfish" and "greedy."

[integratedsoul]

There are, but.... Well, do you think they're doing that, Kino-kun?

I think there are probably things that they want, that they will do things to obtain, even if we don't know about it.
