Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!
If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.
It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!
This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

What do you need the knife for?
[The question is utterly devoid of any recognition that he's in no position to be asking what people want with weapons here....]

A knife is a fair substitute for a spearpoint. If there is the head of a pole axe or a boar spear somewhere in all of this, well... you've got me at a disadvantage, then. I'm not sure what I could offer of value. Artwork may be fine if you have to pay for your coffee, but you are most definitely not running a cafe.
[Veering perilously close to babbling to avoid admitting that he feels sort of naked without a weapon? This guy?
...yeah, that's exactly what he's doing.]

But in the end, the guy's asking for a knife, not a shotgun or a rifle.]
Fine. I want to ask you a few questions anyway. Eric, right?
you have no idea how hard I had to work to not call him "human Lotor" in the narration, my god
Yes. What would you like to know?
I can see why lmao. He's even kind of got the hair...
To what degree are you capable of healing injuries?
[He didn't spot a clinic in town after all.]
he also has the very brittle ego and absolute conviction that he's on the right path c:
Ordinarily, I could bring someone back from the brink of death, but the guestbook said differently. Given the circumstances, I suspect that may not have been misinformation, but I've not yet tried that sort of major working. It's not something to throw around without a target, I'd be left unable to do much else magically until I've had a decent rest.
[He sighs.] I cannot fix illness, and I cannot - I can not cure someone of un-death, but I think it is safe to assume I can still repair wounds up to the degree of a messy compound fracture.
