WEEK 1: April 2nd - April 6th

Peace Week
Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

[Welcome to the peace week! This week there won't be a murder nor a task. Enjoy the peace while it lasts! If you want to contact the Sergeant, please post here!]
marmoron: by request of the icon creator, pls do not take (contemplative)

[Eric's another one that stuck out on the guestbook. Alleged vampire hunter and all. The request gets a raised eyebrow.]

What do you need the knife for?

[The question is utterly devoid of any recognition that he's in no position to be asking what people want with weapons here....]
yonosoymaria: (I came here to get some peace)

[And that's to be expected, no recognition from Keith that he's not in command... some sort of knight would naturally act that way.]

A knife is a fair substitute for a spearpoint. If there is the head of a pole axe or a boar spear somewhere in all of this, well... you've got me at a disadvantage, then. I'm not sure what I could offer of value. Artwork may be fine if you have to pay for your coffee, but you are most definitely not running a cafe.

[Veering perilously close to babbling to avoid admitting that he feels sort of naked without a weapon? This guy?

...yeah, that's exactly what he's doing.

[Dude. You're giving off distinct Lotor vibes with all this verbiage to say something rather simple. Keith is raising an eyebrow -- not in dislike, just with mild skepticism. How the heck did they go from knives to cafes again....

But in the end, the guy's asking for a knife, not a shotgun or a rifle.
]

Fine. I want to ask you a few questions anyway. Eric, right?
yonosoymaria: (Way down deep)

you have no idea how hard I had to work to not call him "human Lotor" in the narration, my god

[Ex-Bohemian "logic" wanders all over the place. Knives, cafes, it all comes together somehow. For someone who hates the Modernists, Eric really does jump from concept to concept like one of them... but he can be made to focus.]

Yes. What would you like to know?
marmoron: (more resting bitchface)

I can see why lmao. He's even kind of got the hair...

[personal profile] marmoron 2018-10-09 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Quite a bit, but he'll start with the most immediately pertinent.]

To what degree are you capable of healing injuries?

[He didn't spot a clinic in town after all.]
yonosoymaria: (When our lives are over)

he also has the very brittle ego and absolute conviction that he's on the right path c:

[Good, the first question is something actually relevant, not a comment on his family's trade.]

Ordinarily, I could bring someone back from the brink of death, but the guestbook said differently. Given the circumstances, I suspect that may not have been misinformation, but I've not yet tried that sort of major working. It's not something to throw around without a target, I'd be left unable to do much else magically until I've had a decent rest.

[He sighs.] I cannot fix illness, and I cannot - I can not cure someone of un-death, but I think it is safe to assume I can still repair wounds up to the degree of a messy compound fracture.
