Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

I'm always traveling.

[...Besides right now, but Kino's trying not to think about that.]

I usually only spend three days in one place before I move on again. But that means, when it's light out, I need to make the most of it.

[clearities]

I think that's pretty amazing! I've never been outside of Tomoeda.

[quickpersuader]

Traveling isn't for everyone. But... I've been on the road for a while, and I still haven't gotten tired of it. I'm not sure I ever will.

[Not when there's so much to see.]

[clearities]

I'd think I'd like to travel to other places someday, though... maybe when I'm not in school. I want to see a bunch of places, like where Syaoran-kun is from and where sensei is from and maybe where everyone else is from, too.

[quickpersuader]

Do you know anything about their home countries?

[clearities]

Syaoran-kun's from Hong Kong! He sent me a lot of photos of the place when he went back... and it's so big! Like late at night, it's really pretty with all the lights.

[quickpersuader]

Hong Kong?

[Never heard of that country before.]

What did it look like?

[clearities]

Mmhm, it's a large city in China. It has a lot tall buildings near the water. I wish I could show you...

[quickpersuader]

China?

[Where's that.]

[clearities]

It's a big country west of Japan. Ah... did you want me to draw you a map? I could do that for you, Kino-san!

[quickpersuader]

If it's not too much trouble, I'd be interested in seeing it.

[clearities]

I'm not that good at drawing myself, but I'll do my best! [ She sounds determined for a second, but then, there's a sudden realization. ] ...oh. I don't have paper and pencil on me right now, though.

[quickpersuader]

That's true...

[Hm.]

Where did you get the paper from before?

[clearities]

They were from the motel storage, actually. I can show you if you want me to.

[quickpersuader]

[Kino glances back in the direction of the lodge before turning to Sakura and nodding.]

Okay. Let's go check it out.

[clearities]

[ For a moment, Sakura can't help but look a little curious as to why Kino glances at the lodge, but it's okay-- to her, it isn't important. ]

Alright!

[ She seems to be a little enthused about it as she immediately heads towards the lodge, making sure that Kino's following from behind. ]

[quickpersuader]

[Kino just offers another one of those faint smiles as they head to the motel.]

Having writing supplies could be useful.

[clearities]

Yeah, there's a lot of things you can do with them. Like draw pictures and write notes. [ Once they're at the motel, she's checking the storage for pen and paper-- they're there, like they were last time, of course. Once she's gotten some for herself, she does look over her shoulder at Kino. ] Do you want some too, Kino-san?

[quickpersuader]

Yes, please.

[And Kino will go ahead and grab some as well!]

Now, what did those countries look like?

[clearities]

Um... I'm not sure if I'd be able to draw it really well, but...

[ She's going to do her best! And since she is a child, it does look a little childlike, but she's managed to draw a basic atlas of the world, with arrows pointing at China and Japan. ]

I think it's like this?

[quickpersuader]

[Kino has seen worse maps.]

So you have to cross the ocean to get there?

[clearities]

Mmhm. Most people take airplanes to get there!

[quickpersuader]

[Blinking.]

Airplane?

[clearities]

Mmhm. It's like... a flying ship?

[ She takes another paper and draws an airplane. It's obviously childish, but it captures what it looks like pretty simply. ]

Like this!

[quickpersuader]

I see...

[No, not really. Kino would need to see a diagram of an actual one to even begin to figure out how a shape like that can fly.]

...I'm envious. It sounds like many places have achieved flight.
