Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

[Other than the fact that she's heard it about ten times in quick succession.]

I've been blocking it out this entire time. Don't underestimate my mental fortitude.

[She absolutely knows the words.]

[Staring straight at Natalie:]

[With the heaviest sigh yet, she starts... Well, not singing, but at least muttering the words under her breath. You know, low enough that Millium can barely hear her.

That counts, right?]

[She'll even lead the charge! Isn't she kind?]

—I'll do it if you go back to a normal volume right now!

[She gives one final sigh before she joins in at a normal volume, and... Perhaps unsurprisingly, given ~musicals~, she is actually pretty darn good.

The very moment it's over, though:]

There, are you happy?!

[With a sweet and actually pretty genuine smile:]

Yes.

[robitussin]

[Some people might be encouraged by how sincere she suddenly seems, but Natalie—]

Don't do that. That's weird.

[Why is it the kindness that throws her off the most? A mystery.]

[She starts to scoff, before she seems to realize something.]

Oh, shit. I mean... I didn't say that, you never heard me say that. [Convincing.] How old are you, again...? Thirteen, right?

Yuppers.

[Truthfully, Millium's heard way, way worse. But it's just another way to get under Natalie's skin, at this point.]

[robitussin]

Please forget everything that I said in the last two minutes. It's better for everyone that way.

What foul mouth? I have no idea what you're talking about, the last few minutes are a blur.
