Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

Just the master of cheesy speeches. He takes 'em all super-seriously, too, but at least unlike Jusis he can have fun, too.

[Instantly. And then, a pause.]

...Maybe grey. He's got Valley, after all, and there is that whole "Ashen Chevalier" thing.

But he had that red coat during the war n' our school uniforms were red, so I always think of him as red...

Red's a good color. [he looks pleased] It's the color of a true hero, yanno! All the famous super heroes wear red!

Ehehe... red it is, then! 'Cause that definitely suits him.

Red for heroes, though, huh? I guess I never really thought of it that way, but now that you mention it... [She taps at her lips thoughtfully.] There's sure been a lotta talk about heroes and villains since we got here. S'kinda weird.

Those were always just storybook things before here, y'know? Other worlds are crazy.

Yeah, you're right... Even your world sounds a lot weirder than mine. [he certainly doesn't have to worry about combat, at least not now] An' I've been meeting people who're doing all kinds of amazing things.

...Yeah, even I can't deny that things can get pretty crazy where I'm from!

[Man, Oso. She hasn't even told you about the giant robots yet.]

Right?! I met a guy who lit one of my sharks on fire! [Like. With super powers. But she fails to explain that part.]

Umm. [Names are hard.]

Spooky guy that's like half-leather and half-staples?

Yeah, that's him. [half leather and half staples... that's one way of describing Dabi] I called him Fire-Man, and he made sure to correct me. Guess he doesn't like nicknames.

...So I should basically just call him that forever, got it.

That's what he gets for burnin' up my shark, anyway.

[a grin. oh, Millium, Osomatsu likes you a whole bunch! you're great]

Aside from Fire-Man, I met a guy who told me he was a famous Dragon Slayer! Dunno if I completely believe 'im, but he sure looked like one. [he shakes his head] It's been crazy. I feel like I'm too normal for you guys.

Ooooh... a Dragon Slayer? That sounds awesome.

[Millium hasn't met him, though! Alas.]

Hey, hey, there's no problem with being normal! Out of my friends back home, Machias is the biggest normie there is and he still hung out with us just fine!

[...is that a compliment to Machias? It's unclear.]

'Sides, think about it: this way, it's reaaal easy to underestimate you, y'know? And that's a good position to be in.

[how funny, being compared to a normie. to Osomatsu, being a normie was always a thing he made fun of. people who had jobs, who went on dates, who had friends... Osomatsu really despised and envied people like that.

but that's a whole different story]

I guess. But, I mean, there's nothing I could really do to beat a Dragon Slayer, or a guy that manipulates fire. I don't have any special powers, or even weapons, aside from that knife I got from the junkyard.

[doublelammy]

[Well... if it helps, Oso, Machias has two out of those three things and dates are not among them and likely never will be.]

Who needs powers? You just need people to not see you coming.

[Occupation: spy]

...I mean, not that I ever do that 'cause smashing things with Lammy is way more fun, but you probably could!

[Osomatsu's not going to lie to Millium. he loves bragging about how great he is, but he's no spy. he's about as subtle as a freight train]

Maybe... [he looks down, and then shrugs] Though I don't plan on sneakin' up on anyone. If someone is gonna come at me, I'm gonna fight my hardest, but that's it.

This was not her intention. What does she do...?

Oso is nice, and offered to look out for her while knowing even less about her than Class VII did when they opened their arms to her...]

It's clumsy and awkward, accentuated by little bounces so she can reach, but she pats the top of his head a couple of times.]

If it comes down to that, then... if I can, I'll try to help you, too!

I'll do the sneaking. Or the smashing, whatever comes first. You just be you! Okay?

[that... that's so cute! she is patting his head, even though she is so short. Osomatsu actually stoops down so that she can reach better. and, guess what, Millium, he is smiling again.

yeah, he forgot that he's trying to keep his spirits up. but she is helping]

O-okay. I'm the best at being me, honestly!

[If Millium has learned anything in her schooling adventures, it's that headpats always help. Or, at least, they help most of the time!

And would you look at that, it looks like they work even when she's not the recipient. She's glad to see it.]

Then you keep rockin' you! And maybe we'll get really lucky and we'll never have to worry about it. But if we do, I got your back.

Thanks, Milli-chan! [he feels kind of bad, relying on a little girl for help. but, at the same time, she's had more combat experience than him. also she's a spy?] I'll do what I can to help you out, too!

[Millium is a terrible girl, but she'll be good for the right people.]

[Yeah, she's a little girl, and that's caused no shortage of similar feelings in her classmates back at home. But when it comes down to it... also, she's a spy. There's no shame, here.]

Just keep doin' things like this. It's way more fun than everyone sittin' around bein' all mopey all the time!

I'll make sure we do fun things like this all the time! I don't wanna be mopey. [even though he should probably be on guard more often. he keeps slipping into a false sense of security, thanks to the people he's met]
