Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

Around Town

[Moloch had been walking around town when the hail started. Because he read the newspaper, he took one of the umbrellas with him. It was doing a decent enough job stopping the hail -- and then he saw Hawks. It takes him a moment to decide -- because he knows this is going to be unpleasant]

Hey! Do you want it?

[Want to take this umbrella? Running towards the motel will hurt Moloch, but Hawks sure seems to be having a hard time. Moloch's guessing getting your wings pelted with hail hurts a lot]

[Hawks jogs closer to Moloch before answering, his wings still acting as a makeshift umbrella.]

It’s okay, I couldn’t take it from you. My wings are pretty hardy.

[Theyve deflected worse than some hail— the most unpleasant part will just be getting the cold water off later.]

I sure won't complain about this!

[Hey, less pain for him because of the hail. Moloch grips his umbrella, glad he'll have some cover]

So what's the story? You didn't read about this in the newspaper?

I read the newspaper, I just figured it wouldn't actually hail. The desert seems like it'd be too dry for hail, or so I thought.

[Hawks may be smart, but he doesn't live anywhere near a desert and is really not the authority on all weather]

It'd be hard to predict hail. If the newspaper said there'd be hail they must have something to confirm it.

[Or. Something. He sure doesn't know how weather predictions work]

Maybe where you're from, but where I am the weather predictions have a chance of being wrong. Hail seemed so unlikely I figured the paper was wrong today.

Just what kind of place do you come from? [Hm. Wings...] Some sort of city in the sky?

[He's not too surprised about someone having wings, he's more surprised he can fly without any problems. Adapting wings to an otherwise normal person would be difficult, he figures]

[icariot]

[A city in the sky...]

Nah, I'm from Kyushu, it's more a port area than a sky area. And no, most people where I'm from don't have wings. You've seen the tall guy covered in scars, right? He's from the same place.

[a beat, before in an even more curious tone] Are there cities in the sky where you're from?
