Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

I find the first really hard to believe, and... They're huge assholes if it's the second one. So.

People don't mind leadin' a lazy and ignorant life if it's easy. [ Maybe it's a mix of both, honestly. ]

[robitussin]

Yeah, I get it, you're super edgy, I read your profile thing, I get it.

[A roll of her eyes.]

Thing is, I want to believe there's at least a way to try and get them to help us.

[amburere]

[ Just smirks. ]

Comes with the occupation. [ Well he still looked like this before he totally went down the evil path but that's OK. He's upped his edge game since then. ]

Villain is a subjective term. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on that one, unless you don't want it.

[A shrug.]

...I don't know.

[amburere]

I wouldn't want to be called anything else. [ And judging by how pleased he looks, it's a point of twisted pride too. ]

But you appreciate normalcy, right? Maybe you guys can bond over your mutual like of mundanity.

[robitussin]

Why's that?

[There's some apprehension in her voice, but she's honestly curious, too.]

I don't like... fake normalcy. None of this is normal, they're just pretending that it is. That shit drives me nuts.

[amburere]

[ There's a pause and then he shrugs. ]

Cause that's what I am, just like my name. [ He casts a look around the diner before turning back to her again. ] Reality is trash.

[robitussin]

...Reality is trash?

[A pause, as she glances his way with some skepticism.]

What do you prefer as an alternative, exactly?

[amburere]

Burning it all to the ground.

[ It's pretty simple at face. But there's more to it, naturally. ]

[robitussin]

That... seems a little bit extreme, but it sounds like you've got more to say.

[And she's interested to hear, at least.]
