Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

It goes without saying. I'm not ignorant to how some may think we're a more...old-fashioned town, but we're far from any of that. Due process is how we'd handle things.

But really, I'm glad to see I'm not vacationing in the old west.

Indeed! I feel like people are quick to write off small jurisdictions, but really, everywhere has their problems. We definitely see some nasty stuff in the city, after all.

Can't say I can relate to that, really. Cartesio doesn't really have crime, nasty or otherwise.

Hmm... well, just because it doesn't at the moment doesn't mean that it won't. Crime doesn't exactly discriminate.

Oh, it doesn't discriminate...but I also mean it when I say, it doesn't happen. It hasn't.

Not even jaywalking, parking tickets, and public intoxication?

No, sir. We're a very orderly town.

But it really must make your job boring. What do you even do all day?

Paperwork, sometimes visits to the local school. Patrols, if needed.

[ Though it does sound lackluster... There's nothing disappointed in her voice. ]

Boring or not, if the people are safe and happy...then I'm satisfied.
