Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

[What a revelation that he actually needs food here to survive, alas. He's unfortunately no good at cooking though, so he eventually wanders into the diner in the vague hopes of finding something edible. As he looks about the space with some mild curiosity, Hawks' comment catches his attention.]

...What are you muttering to yourself about?

[icariot]

[congrats fellow bird, you're in luck. Hawks is willing to share, as long as you like chicken]

I'm debating which delicious food I'm going get to eat.

[He'll never like anything as much as coffee!! ...but chicken is probably acceptable tbqh]

Is that so?

[Just moves to rummage around the kitchen for a cup and wherever the hell the coffee is.]

I haven't heard of either of those dishes.

[Hawks is gonna start prep for the oyakodon, but no real cooking just yet]

You're missing out then, man. Oyakodon is pretty common everywhere, but mizutaki is a specialty of my hometown. That one is more a dinner food than breakfast so I'm not planning on making it right now, but I'll have to introduce you to it sometime.

[Okay, he pauses a little bit as he goes through the cupboards, turning back to look at Hawks.]

...Are you offering to cook something?

....Yes? You just said you haven’t heard of it and that’s unacceptable. We birds gotta stick together, so I’ll make it for you sometime.

[a gesture at the eggs and rice and things he was in the process of right now]

I can make you oyakodon too if you haven’t eaten yet this morning.

[He gives Hawks the flattest look. He knows it says flight on his profile but still...!] ...I'm not a bird.

[But his Mood doesn't seem to last long, and he's back to rustling through the cupboards. What he says next is almost conversational in tone.]

How do I know you aren't trying to poison me?

[icariot]

[Nah, totally a bird. Considering you also can have wings, there’s no real changing his mind.

Hawks is going to jump on that other topic though, because he’s mockingly offended you think he’d poison good food.]

There’s no way I’m gonna poison something I want to eat, and I’m pretty sure I want this food more than you do.

[merirut]

[There's a small hum of thought and he seems content to leave it at that, but.]

Alright. [Another rustle through the cupboard.] Do you drink coffee?

[icariot]

[Some actual cooking is starting to happen here, amazing]

Yeah, I do, coffee is great. Teas more common where I'm from, but my friend and I get coffee whenever we can.
