Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!
If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.
It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!
This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

[Said fairly nonchalantly. Sometimes the two go hand in hand. Keith's uh... kind of an expert on that. But he'll note that Jughead isn't answering the question on whether he does that with people like Clarisse specifically and let that speak for itself as an answer.]
You do that with the wrong person and it could just get you killed.

[It’s said as if that’s just a part of the job. He’d risked enough for the Jason Blossom story, and with something as big as this it’s not like he’s going to go playing it safe, now. People might say he’d been a bad influence on Betty, but this mindset was Cooper-inspired.
He brushes a thumb against his nose with a wry smile.]
Whatever it takes to get the story.

This isn't a game.

[If he could be entirely unaffected by this bullshit, he’s not sure if he’d want it.]
I just have a healthy ironic detachment. It’s how I cope.

[There's a pause as he sips at his water.]
How's that coping strategy holding up for you?
[Judhead, as far as he can tell from his guestbook entry, is just an ordinary student. There's probably an incredibly steep learning curve here. Must be hard.]

[Distancing himself helped for the most part back home, until everything got too real. He just hopes it doesn't go that way here.]

[Maybe.]
