Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

[It doesn't look like he's deterred her one bit.]

Yeah, sure, the whole thing is pretty spooky. But sitting around and crying is just gonna make my eyes hurt, not get anything done.

[She understands crying now, at least to an extent. But it's nothing she needs here.]

So I'm just gonna try to be happy and keep on living. I've seen people wiggle outta all sorts o' crazy things. I don't think this is impossible, either.

[Well, he can appreciate her determination.] An admirable sentiment. And I do believe that there are several of us here who have companions both willing and able to search for us. So I'm certain it shall not take too long for us to escape.

[doublelammy]

[Hm. That seems to strike a nerve, as her smile fades for a bit. She doesn't look upset, instead just watching him closely.]

...I sure hope they don't.

People I know were here before. They're back home now. And it'd be dangerous for 'em to come find me.

I'll be okay on my own. I've been on scarier missions than this. 'Sides, if it comes down to it, I'd rather get hurt than them.

[silvertongueheir]

[Ah. Well, he can understand her being more worried about them, in that case.] I see. That's a very noble viewpoint for you to take. [On her own...he hasn't really been apart from the team for long periods of time. Even when they split up it was still in groups. And...he himself would rather get hurt over Shaun or Liam, or even Jimmy. Like hell he's going to say that out loud to someone he barely knows though.]

I won't dwell on it then. Do you need help with those sharks?

[doublelammy]

Mm.

[Works for her. She doesn't really want to dwell on something like this, either.

And talking about sharks is way more fun. She lights right back up.]

Ooh, could you? I wanna get some of 'em up higher, but I can only jump so high...!

[silvertongueheir]

[Distraction squad, go.] Certainly. Do you perhaps have a drawing implement I could borrow?

[doublelammy]

Yep! I raided the motel yesterday. Hang on...

[She goes digging into her pockets, and eventually produces a pen, which she hands over.]

[silvertongueheir]

Thank you. [He takes one of the sharks and messes with it a bit, folding its tail in and drawing a star on its forehead so that it looks like a Sharpedo.] There. [He sticks it higher up on one of the gas station pillars, angling it so that from the right perspective it looks like it's about to swallow any incoming cars.]

[doublelammy]

[Millium doesn't understand the edits, but she seems delighted with them nonetheless.]

Great! C'mon, let's go, go, go~! I've got like a billion more of these to stick up!

[Welcome to hell.]

[...what has he gotten into?] And which locations are you finished with? [He feels a sinking feeling of doom...]

[And correctly so.]

Ummmm.

I dunno. I wasn't really planning on specific locations. I just wanna stick all these up all over town.

[She shows him her pile of paper sharks. It's sizable, but definitely not an actual billion.

Probably fewer than one hundred or so.]

[silvertongueheir]

Well, I suppose the most effective strategy would be to place them where whoever writes the newspaper can most conveniently find them. Though I do not believe there is a single building for that.

[doublelammy]

But I dunno where the newspaper guy is. So I was just gonna stick 'em everywhere so they had the best chance!

[silvertongueheir]

[...well, he supposes he's in for the long haul. But if they're going to do this, they'll do it right.] I know which locations are likely to draw the eye easiest. I suppose I can instruct you on that as well.

[doublelammy]

[Welcome to hell!]

Yay! All right, let's go, go, go~!

[She divides her pile of sharks into two, then shoves one of those piles into Franciscus' hand without warning. Equally without warning, once that's done, she reaches out and grabs his wrist to start running off again.]

Tell me when to stop!

[silvertongueheir]

Wait, Jimmy- [The name comes out without thinking, and while his mind reboots itself he ends up letting himself be dragged along until they're near the hunting shop.]

Stop here.

[doublelammy]

[Huh?]

Jimmy?

[Still, obediently, she skids to a stop near the hunting shop.]

I apologize. You simply...reminded me of one of my teammates, back home. He had a tendency to do that as well.

[doublelammy]

Haha... the way you talk, you kinda remind me of somebody I know, too.

[She'll elaborate if he does.]

So. Where around here?

[silvertongueheir]

You'd probably like him. He likes giving people nicknames, too.

[He gestures at the door of the shop.] The doorframe is a good place to catch the eye of anyone walking past. Generally, it would be better to place them higher up, since it seems the population of this town is mostly adults, and that would place them at eye level. The windows would work as well, though those should be placed closer to where the merchandise can be viewed.

[doublelammy]

I think you might like Jusis, too. You're both all put-together n' analytical and have no idea what to do with me.

[She grins, catlike. She knows she's throwing Franciscus off at least a little, and that's part of the fun.]

Okay! I can get the windows, but you're taller, so you prolly oughta get the door.

[She immediately gets to work making little tape rolls for Franciscus to use, and just as immediately decides the best way to store them is to just lightly stick them to his sleeve.

[Why did he agree to this. Still, it seems to be keeping her in a good mood, so he starts quickly plucking them off and sticking them to the back of the sharks. He adjusts his hold a bit so that some of them are fanned out.]

You can simply place them on the backs directly. There is no need to use my clothes as storage.

[doublelammy]

[Okay, but see, now he's made a critical error: he told her not to do something, which means she now absolutely has to do that thing.

She very quickly makes five more little tape rolls, placing one around each finger and then putting her hand on his arm before sliding her fingers out and leaving them there, smiling the whole time.

She heard him, and she sees his reasonable offer. She just doesn't care.]

[silvertongueheir]

[...yeah, she's definitely a tiny Jimmy. He quickly starts sticking sharks on the doorframe to free up his hands, watching her and attempting to try and intercept her next time she tries to stick tape on his suit.]

[doublelammy]

[Thankfully, she has her own sharks to stick up, so he'll be free of her nonsense for at least a few minutes.

Once she's applied a shark to every window she feasibly can, though, it is time for part two of her cunning evil plan.

Running around to stick up sharks means she slips out of Franciscus' view for a bit, which means now is a great time to try to apply some Stealth Moves. The desired end result: sticking an entire shark to Franciscus, just because she can tell this annoys him.

Operation, start!]
