Peace Week

Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

Who did he have in the lodge? And why vandalism and petty thievery?

[he's still trying to puzzle out what the whole deal is-- but he thinks everyone is, at this point?]

Ah-- not who, but the items that were taken from everyone were there, in the lodge. [ Just to clarify, there. ] I don't know why, though. He didn't specify the reasons, just that if we were to get our items back, we would have to do that.

[browbeater]

Items?

[he pauses and sounds-- well... really suspicious.]

Like our clothes, or something else?

[clearities]

I think... it varied from person to person. For me, I'm pretty sure he has my staff and the cards.

[browbeater]

Your staff and the cards...?

[help him... understand ccs, he doesn't get it?]

[clearities]

Mmhm. [ She nods. In this place, she hasn't been hiding it, since it seems other people have abilities, too. ] I can use magic, with my staff and the cards. For example... I have a card called Aqua, which allows me to use water magic. And Blaze lets me use fire magic. The last card I captured was Mirror, which I could use to copy some of my other magic and it can even invert things! Like it inverted my house, once! It was really surprising!

[browbeater]

[oh, so it's powerful items! This is fine, he doesn't have anything like that.]

Magic, huh?

[it is appropriate that she calls magic with her cards-- since he would associate magic with more of a parlor trick than bending... oops.]

So that's the type of thing he'd keep locked up there. But causing trouble isn't exactly smiled upon by the locals.

[clearities]

Mm... I wouldn't cause trouble, though. I'm a good person. [ She seems to huff a bit about it for a moment, but then she smiles, a little brighter now that she's talking about something that isn't murder. ] And the cards are really kind, too, like Flight really likes to play around and fly a lot.

[browbeater]

No, I'm not saying you would, don't worry.

[the second part he just... looks confused at. what?

what does any of that mean?]

[clearities]

Good, because my onii-chan calls me a 'monster' a lot and I'm really, really not! [ She huffs a bit, frustrated. At least she's feeling a bit better? But then she lets out that breath she's been holding. ] ... but I do miss him. [ Along with everyone else. ]

[browbeater]

Onii-chan?

[Also, he. pauses. He's met real monsters before. he has a feeling that this is something like sibling teasing.]

[clearities]

Yeah-- oh. My big brother.

[ So, yes. It is 100% sibling teasing. ]

[browbeater]

Oh, so he teases you.

[it'd be amusing in a different situation? though he gets that. he used to tease his little brother a lot worse.]

We'll figure out a way out of this, alright?

[clearities]

Mmhm. I hope so.
