Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[Given Oda was at the party for a short while, and Moloch did see him there, later when he finds Oda at the diner all he can suppose is that the reason why he's so conflicted is because he's not okay in luxurious settings]

The party bothered you that much?

[ oda blinks, shaking his head. ]

The food was alright...I'm glad they did it for the others. It's just not somethin' I'm used to.

I'm not used to parties either but...I dunno, I keep feeling suspicious of all these townpeople. I still can't believe they don't know anything.

[He's been thinking it's a way for them to fool them into letting their guard down]

Yeah.

[ oda feels the same way, despite the lack of outward concern. ]

Although, if some do know, then there must be a reason why they can't tell us.

Because they're secretly evil and want to see us suffer?

[Moloch showing he's not an optimistic person. He doesn't completely mean that, but there's a chance they do know and don't care these tourists' lives are i ndanger, he thinks]

[ well. that's definitely a theory. ]

Maybe. [ he shrugs. it's not like it's not a possibility...but it's just one oda himself has a hard time believing. ] Although maybe the ones that know are scared to say something.

Wouldn't they try to get help anyway? In subtle ways.

[Like notes, or gestures, or anything. Even those who are intimidated can't hide the fact they're being coerced]

Not always. But you're probably right. There must be someone that knows something.

[Maybe if they ask the right person they can get info, Moloch guesses. Asking around too much could get them suspicious...and he certainly doesn't want the Sergeant breathing down your neck]
