April 7th - Welcome Party

Welcome Party
Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.
Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.
Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.
Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.
There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

buffet
[Millium has one plate in each hand, one piled horrifyingly high and the other about halfway there. Can she even eat all this? It sure looks like she's going to try, and she zips around Kino to grab something on their other side.
Millium pauses to actually get a good look at Kino.]
Ooooh. Someone's lookin' snazzy!

[Kino just has one plate heaped with food. For now. Moderation, etc. One hand is raised to tug a little at the suit jacket.]
It's been a while since I've visited a country where it's encouraged to dress up.
no subject
Hehe, yeah. I don't think I've ever really had an excuse to dress up like this before. I mean, we dressed up for our concert, but that was pretty different!

[Maybe Kino can get some bites in while listening.]

Oh!! Um, our whole class put it on for the school festival. We had two songs n' an encore, I was a backup dancer for the second one! My friend Elliot wrote the songs n' Crow made our costumes. It was this cute little thing with a vest and frilly skirt and I got a cute little hat and it was lots of fun!
They were... rock songs, I think Elliot called 'em? N' the encore was a song everybody in the crowd knew, so they sung along. We won the competition!

What did you do for the first one? Did you play too?
no subject
It woulda just been too easy if they had me bein' cute the whole time up there, y'know?

[At least she has self-esteem...]

More of your friends?

Rean, Jusis, Alisa, Machias, Fie, Elliot, Emma, Laura, Gaius, n' Crow.
no subject
[Munch munch.]

And then Crow couldn't actually play with us 'cause he was a second year and that woulda been cheating, but he got a snazzy outfit and got to announce at least.
no subject
[By announcing.]

[She's smiling, still, but it's more bittersweet now.]

[Something you want to get off your chest there, Millium?]
no subject
["Was."]

CS/2 SPOILERS AHOY
[She fidgets slightly.]
Well, first it turns out he was a terrorist and he kinda assassinated Gramps. ...Er, tried to.
Then he kinda got stabbed through the heart by a giant robot and died once we convinced him to stop being a terrorist. So now he's dead.

I'm sorry to hear that.
[Not much else to offer other than condolences, though.]

[NO KIDDING.]
