April 7th - Welcome Party

Welcome Party
Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.
Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.
Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.
Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.
There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[Kino opts for a slick black suit and promptly wanders over to the buffet table to indulge in the heaps and heaps of food available. If the teen seems a bit agitated, it's probably your imagination.
At least the food's good.]
[Games]
[Kino actually does play, starting off with pachinko. The lights are a bit befuddling, and there's definitely some balls spent figuring out how it works, but soon enough Kino is operating the crank with swift and precise movements, occasionally glancing around again between plays. It seems the traveler's heart just isn't in the game...
Kino can probably be coaxed into other games; from the looks of it, they probably need something a little more engaging.]
Pachinko
[At least he's interpreting her glancing around as a sign she's not into the game. Moloch had never seen a pachinko before, so he's not sure if it's even supposed to be fun]
no subject
There are other things I'd rather do.
[Like. Traveling.]
no subject
I know. Trust me, I know.
[He feels so bad for you, Kino]
You think this was organized by the Sergeant to distract us or something?
[Moloch wouldn't put it past him, even if he doesn't see how it'd lead to murder]
no subject
[Clink clink clunk.]
It's possible, but I'm not so sure about it.
no subject
[But not...impossible...he supposes]

Pachinko
[Franciscus has definitely noticed Kino's agitation. He hopes one of the other gsmes can maybe provide a better distraction before she takes it out on someone.]
no subject
[Kino is all ears. The crazy lights and sounds just aren't doing it.]

So it's a puzzle?

panchinko
This one is boring as hell, yo.
Re: panchinko
[A soft sigh, and then Kino turns to Nine.]
Have you found any better games?
no subject
[ He might be biased because he's a card though. ]
no subject
[Please let them be more engaging.]
pinball or panball machines
[ He'll point over to the pinball machines. ]
Pan you menace
i can be the pantom menace
THE WORST!!
you know I can keep pandering up some more
Re: you know I can keep pandering up some more

buffet
[Millium has one plate in each hand, one piled horrifyingly high and the other about halfway there. Can she even eat all this? It sure looks like she's going to try, and she zips around Kino to grab something on their other side.
Millium pauses to actually get a good look at Kino.]
Ooooh. Someone's lookin' snazzy!

[Kino just has one plate heaped with food. For now. Moderation, etc. One hand is raised to tug a little at the suit jacket.]
It's been a while since I've visited a country where it's encouraged to dress up.
no subject
Hehe, yeah. I don't think I've ever really had an excuse to dress up like this before. I mean, we dressed up for our concert, but that was pretty different!
no subject
[Maybe Kino can get some bites in while listening.]

Oh!! Um, our whole class put it on for the school festival. We had two songs n' an encore, I was a backup dancer for the second one! My friend Elliot wrote the songs n' Crow made our costumes. It was this cute little thing with a vest and frilly skirt and I got a cute little hat and it was lots of fun!
They were... rock songs, I think Elliot called 'em? N' the encore was a song everybody in the crowd knew, so they sung along. We won the competition!

pachinko
Nice lifeless salaryman impression.

[Clunk clatta clatta kachunk. Kino looks over to Dabi properly.]
You were... Mr. Dabi, wasn't it?
[Haven't seen too much of this guy around, even with his unique appearance.]
no subject
Just Dabi. [ He's been mostly hanging out at the junkyard or otherwise sticking to the sidelines. Not really been a reason to do anything else, really.]
You're the sixteen year old brat least likely to kill someone.
no subject
[As opposed to that epithet, not that Kino's tone gives away any indication of annoyance.]
I didn't realize I had a reputation already.
