Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[She gestures down to the oversized plaid shirt and leggings she's wearing, shaking her head.]

I'm not really a dress kind of person unless I'm at a recital.

[at least she looks comfortable]

Recital? For what?

[She brightens up a little, glancing away from the food towards him.]

I play classical piano.

[oh... ooohhhh...! Osomatsu's face lights up]

Really? That's amazing!

[She runs a hand through her hair, embarrassed once she realizes his reaction.]

It's not that impressive...

Are you kidding? It takes a lot of skill and practice t'play an instrument. I think that's totally cool!

It's not like I compose it or anything. I just play it.

That's still cool! I wish I played an instrument. Though I wouldn't be any good at it 'cause I would never practice.

I could show if you actually wanted to learn how to play a...

[But then she pauses and trails off, shaking her head.]

Or, I could show you if there were actually any pianos in this place.

[Osomatsu blinks at her, completely... shocked, that she would actually take the time to teach him something]

Maybe we should find one.

[She shakes her head.]

No, I've looked all over the town. There isn't one.

[ah, she already looked. Osomatsu makes a sympathetic face]

That sucks. I wonder what they do for music in this place... aside from that jukebox at the diner.

I think that's basically it, unless I missed something.

[Another shrug.]

Seriously, it's not a big deal.

[it's kind of a big deal! kind of... only because Osomatsu is so floored by the fact that she would have taught him how to play something. oh well]

Yeah... Guess we'll have to have a concert for you when we all get outta this place, huh?
