Third Week

The peaceful times are over. Moloch von Zinzer was murdered, and Nine was sentenced as his murderer. Everyone in Cartesio knows that.

Although life goes on, it seems the town of Cartesio isn't going to forget the tourists' transgressions. Not only they commited larceny in the cinema, they also murdered and executed in their town! It's no surprise their hospitality towards the visitors has cooled down considerably.

Not only they're maintaining a tense cordiality with them, they also have started talking behind the visitors' backs. All kinds of rumors are starting to sprout, yet nobody seems to be willing to say it to the tourists' faces. Talking directly to most passerby makes them distrustful, and nobody seems to want to be in close quarters alone with them.

It's only matter of time before the relationship between tourists and Cartesio starts degrading even further.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

Oh, yeah. Ice cream can come in any flavor you want. Back at home, there are brands that make savory ice creams.

[She doesn't think twice about it, instead just taking smaller bites from here on in as she listens. As for what she's listening to—]

Sweet potato is really common where I come from. But I've also seen flavors like eel, and crab. Even cow tongue.

Ooh... sweet potato sounds really yummy, actuall—

Oh yeah. People eat anything these days. Cow tongues, pig ears, sheep intestines.

[She's just gonna shovel another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth while looking on expectantly.]

I... Don't know. I've never had any of 'em. But they're pretty popular back on my world.

Huh. [She's maybe a little disappointed, but she settles down quickly enough.] Hm~ I wonder what kindsa things you could make into ice cream from my world!

Maybe the bugs we collected the shells from...

[oh?] Like I said, people make all sorts of ice cream flavors. I'm sure there's bug-flavored ice cream out there, too.

[She takes a spoonfull of the bubblegum-butterscotch mixture and pops it into her mouth.

She looks thoughtful for a moment.]

...Hmm. Mira might've been right about this one.

Oh. She was here the first week. She was the one who hid the bullet in the ice cream.

She said she picked bubblegum 'cause it was the worst.

And I dunno. Like, it's definitely not the worst thing I've ever tasted? 'Cause like, I ate food at Garrelia Fortress, n' you don't get much worse than military food, but...

[UHHH. Osomatsu moves his hand and sort of places it over her bowl]

You probably shouldn't eat it, if you don't like it. [in case there are more bullets in there]

Ehhh, you're probably right. It's not a waste if it's bad.

[he pulls his hand away]

You can have some of mine, if you want. I don't have butterscotch or bubblegum.

Ehhh? No, that's okay! My other side here is chocolate, I can just eat that.

[Who puts bubblegum and chocolate ice cream in the same sundae]

'Sides, I can always just buy more! Infinite money n' all that.

Yeah, you're right! I still am worried Sarge is gonna make us pay it back, though.

Yeah... I don't see how he would, though.

[A pause, and then a devillish little grin.]

We can "pay him back" after this is all over, though, that's for sure.

[ah, Millium. Osomatsu truly loves you]

You, uh... You got something in mind?

I~'m thinkin' about a good ol' one-two from Lammy on my end! You got any good ideas~?

I mean, if I had my way, I would beat the tar outta him. We could all take turns, yanno? Some of us aren't as strong as other people, but just getting a chance to punch him in his weird shadow-face would be good enough for me.

[he notes cheerfully, while eating more ice cream]

Ehehehe... now that sounds like a fun time!

He totally has at least that much comin'!

[ah, it's nice to enjoy ice cream while talking about beating up some dude! Osomatsu hasn't really laid out all his feelings for the Sergeant to other people, but he feels that Millium is a safe place and that she will appreciate his ideas]

At least. [lady laughing with salad emote] And, hey, if someone else decides they want to end his suffering, I'd be fine with that, too.
