Week 3: Investigation

This week's cloudy, dreary weather culminates in a thunderstorm, lasting most of the previous night. That means when you awake this morning, the town is damp and dark. It's not just the weather that gives off an oppressive feeling, though. The air, it's heavy.

The Sergeant told you, after all. This is your last day to prevent your deepest, darkest secrets from being revealed.

There's no immediate evidence that anyone's followed his orders, though. Maybe you'll get through this week without anymore unnecessary death.

Or, maybe not. Maybe you should take a look around town, just to be sure.

CHAPEL

We'll need to check the body...

[Anything notable about it before they pull it out? Posture, wounds visible even now?]

[ There's quite a bit that you'll want to take note of before you pull it out! Let's start with posture.

For one, he's still completely underwater, face-up. His arms are at his side, head against the bottom of the in-ground immersion front. He's positioned in about the center of the pool. ]

[...Very interesting. Kino spends a solid minute just memorizing the details of that before looking for injuries, signs of bloating/changes in the body, or anything that could be holding the body in place underwater.]

[Well, as one of the people who've been in the chapel when it was fully intact, Olympia figures she should stick around here. Leaving the body to the others, she goes to check on the state of the altar.]

[ The altar's up on the stage, where all the lecturing and reading takes place. And it...has definitely seen better days.

The altar itself is completely destroyed. Approximately half a crucifix lays in front of it, edges singed. ]

[Fancy dress lady isn't going to be happy about this.

Is this a big crucifix that she might recognize as a decoration, or a little one like someone would carry with them?]

[ Even though Bakugou's dead that doesn't mean that she can just do nothing-- she was useless last week, so she's going to try and investigate. While she's not checking the body, she'll be checking if there's anything around it that doesn't involve the body itself. ]

[ What's most notable besides poor Bakugou in the baptistery is a toppled ceramic candlestick...or rather, half of a candlestick. It looks like the top half has been broken off? All that's left is the base. ]

[ That's... interesting, to say the least. Is there anything about the candlestick itself that looks off? ]

[Well, if Sakura's sticking around here, he'll stay to make sure she's alright. Are there any signs of the water in the pool being splashed or tracked around?]

[ No, there aren't. If you want to take a look at the water, though, you might find something... ]

[Might as well. Anything other than blood and a body?]

[Gant kind of wants to check out the rubble of Jesus to see if there's anything people missed!]

[ Awesome, let's investigate Jesus!

He's completed destroyed! Little glass eyeball laying on the ground, all lonesome. Nose sitting a few feet away. Ceramic everywhere. Who could've done such a thing?! ]

Eh, they'll probably have him fixed in three days.

[Well, let's sort through the rubble, anyway. This feels vaguely sacreligious, but...]

[Wayne's going to awkwardly hover. With his hands in his pockets and hood up. He's kinda useless here but eh.]

Well, it doesn't seem like he's in huge chunks, but that was a pretty big statue! I wouldn't mind having a little help sorting through things.

[ WELL. If there's anything miscellaneous to look at, here's your girl?? She'll be looking around for anything out of place. ]

[ Let's start with some of the poor chapel's debris. The pews are all various levels of destroyed, some being ash entirely and some just...kind of split in half, wood exposed. ]

[ Are there any kind of marks to indicate *what* did the smashing? Something big, little? A blade, something blunt? ]

[ well, since there's still time and there's evidence that's yet to be found, he'll go to the chapel to check things out!

[ Nothing near it, but Oda will certainly see something no one else has investigated yet! Near the church stage, between what used to be rows of pews, there's the remains of a sanctuary lamp. It's completely shattered, pieces of glass everywhere. Its chain hangs from the ceiling still. ]
