A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?
Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.
The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:
The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.
In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and
the maps have been updated once again.

[He shakes his head. Reminder this man doesn't really have the best opinion of everyone because of the stuff during the last two weeks!

[A soft smile.]
And if there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know.

[He looks at Natalie from over his glasses]
...not to sound rude, but are you...are you trying to kiss my ass?
[You sure laid the sweetness and courtesy on thick, Natalie]

[screams internally]
I just want to repay the courtesy you’ve already shown us.

[And if you need to put up a front, you have something to hide, he decides]

[Moving on, though!!]
You said you had some questions?

[He waves at everyone]
You all have been blaming the Sergeant for everything. I should ask if you have any proof of this, because this sounds like you're blaming the most convenient scapegoat around.

[But.]
You give us a few days and some kind of recording device, and we could get some.

[A small pause, before she continues on.]
It’s more... If we did that, we could stand to lose what’s left of our reputation here. I don’t think that’s a risk any of us would be willing to take. But if we give it back to you and you have the slightest bit of doubt in what we give you... It’s time you could have spent on other things, sure, but then you’d know once and for all what kind of people we are. So, in this worst case scenario that won’t happen, you’ll still benefit. You’ll know the truth.

If it's a cheap recording device, we wouldn't even be able to change the audio anyway.

That does sound more reasonable than most things any of you have said... I'll give it some thought. It's not like I can just pull one out of my sleeve, now, right?

He gave me a note that told me I could go home if I survive. It’s not signed, but I think it’s in his writing.

Guess it does. Though, aren’t you pointing a lot of fingers at us, too? You just said you’ve never spoken to the Sergeant, so why aren’t you askin’ him stuff?

I’d like t’hear his side of the story, if you could catch ‘im. [a slight pause, he’s thinking about his words] You came here to ask us questions, and we’re doin’ our best to answer them. Most of us are all pointing fingers at that guy, saying he’s behind all the shit goin’ on here. Doesn’t it make you wanna seek out the truth? Or are you only interested in giving the townsfolk a slanted view?
