Week 4: Investigation

A late frost has settled over Cartesio. Ice clings to the grass, to the variety show stage, not yet melted by the sun. How could it be, as it's yet to rise Friday morning?

It is only technically Friday, as the planned variety show reaches into its very final hour. Nearly everything on the schedule's been completed, and the cleanup process has begun.

That's probably why no one expects it, not now. Not this early. It's hard to miss, whether you're attending the show or getting some rest. After all, the sound, it comes from somewhere close to the motel. Somewhere close to the show.

Three gun shots ring out at one in the morning, echoing through the park. Something has gone very wrong.

Anything else that stands out? She'll have another look around the kitchen before backtracking and looking around the back room/storage room (if it has one). ]

[ How willing is Azura to get her hands dirty? Nothing stands out immediately, but there's still something in the kitchen... ]

[ RELUCTANT BUT WILLING she'll just take her gloves off

[ If she looks through the trash, she'll find a bottle of cyanide, with a napkin placed atop it. ]

[ This is her destiny, digging through trash during the investigations.

Is it opened? ]

[cartesio]

[ It isn't open right now, but it has been opened. ]

[ Any clue how much of it was used? And what's the napkin for? ]

[cartesio]

[ It's a little hard to get an exact measurement? Just a lot.

It just looks like the napkin was placed on top of the bottle. ]

[ Noted!

Anything else of interest in the kitchen? ]

[cartesio]

[ Not in the kitchen! Where else would you like to look? ]

[ Again, the storage room/back room, if any! She'll also do a general sweep through the booths and tables, just to be sure. ]

[ Nothing seems out of order with the back rooms, nor the booths and tables! ]

[ Uhhhhhhh she will look in the bathrooms, too. Or if there's a broom closet. Or any employee-only office/area?? Still blanking on what other rooms would be in a diner, whoops. ]

[ Well! Is she checking the ladies' room, or the men's room? ]

[prayerwheel]

[ Ladies' room first. If there's nothing there, she'll head over to the dudes' side. ]

[cartesio]

[ She will indeed find something there, but it's a bit...well.

In one of the open stalls, there's some ripped up paper in the toilet. ]

[ Can. Can she see if there's anything written on it without touching it. ]

[cartesio]

[ Uh... Well, it's hard to tell exactly, but...it seems to be a receipt? Who it's made out to is impossible to tell, from the water damage and how it's been ripped up.

She might have to lean in a little (ew, sorry), but she'll be able to see what was purchased, with some peering. A bottle of Strychnine tablets. ]

[ Gross. She'll lean in if it means she doesn't have to actually touch anything.

Duly noted, anyhow. Anything else to notice in the area? ]

[ Not anything else in the ladies bathroom, but, if she'd like to take a step into the men's... ]

[ VERY, VERY RELUCTANTLY, SHE WILL...what horrors await our intrepid maiden in there? ]

[ Nothing as gross, unless she takes offense to the bathroom on principle!

Near the trashcan, there's some wet toilet paper. Don't freak out, it seems to be dirt instead of anything else that's been wiped off. Someone couldn't even get it in the trash? Wow. ]

[ Still gross! But less gross, thankfully. Does she have to root around in this can, too... ]

[cartesio]

[ Thankfully, it doesn't look like there's anything else of note in this can. You're safe from trash, Azura. ]
