Week 4: Investigation

A late frost has settled over Cartesio. Ice clings to the grass, to the variety show stage, not yet melted by the sun. How could it be, as it's yet to rise Friday morning?

It is only technically Friday, as the planned variety show reaches into its very final hour. Nearly everything on the schedule's been completed, and the cleanup process has begun.

That's probably why no one expects it, not now. Not this early. It's hard to miss, whether you're attending the show or getting some rest. After all, the sound, it comes from somewhere close to the motel. Somewhere close to the show.

Three gun shots ring out at one in the morning, echoing through the park. Something has gone very wrong.

[ oda hears the gunshots, and he is running towards the park as fast as he can. ]

[Olympia immediately takes off running toward the source of the sound, mercifully preventing any possible continuation of her comedy performance.]

[ Bolin was helping clean up, but the gun shots startle him and he starts running in that direction ]

[Well THIS is interesting, seeing as how Niwa is on security with her birds watching the whole variety show area.... She's going to be looking at those rather than running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Although her physical location is somewhere near the backstage area, where she could be easily contacted by the rest of the security team.]

BODY ANNOUNCEMENT

This went better than expected, all things considered.

[From the crowd, as if he had always been there, the Sergeant steps forward. He clasps his hands ]

We have an unfortunate victim tonight. Our dearly departed, F...Fo...Foursides? Forsooth? [He puts a hand against his ear. He knows the name, but he's not sure how to pronounce it. Finally, giving up:] Our dearly departed Jughead Jones will want justice. Given how late at night it is, the trial will be at dawn tomorrow, but you should investigate now. You wouldn't want any evidence to go missing because you waited too long, would you?

You'll find police cars at the spots of interest, so you don't have to wander all over the town and sneak into random places at 1:30 AM. Be careful when walking, it's really cold right now.

[And with that, the Sergeant leaves. Good luck, everyone]
