Week 4: Investigation

A late frost has settled over Cartesio. Ice clings to the grass, to the variety show stage, not yet melted by the sun. How could it be, as it's yet to rise Friday morning?

It is only technically Friday, as the planned variety show reaches into its very final hour. Nearly everything on the schedule's been completed, and the cleanup process has begun.

That's probably why no one expects it, not now. Not this early. It's hard to miss, whether you're attending the show or getting some rest. After all, the sound, it comes from somewhere close to the motel. Somewhere close to the show.

Three gun shots ring out at one in the morning, echoing through the park. Something has gone very wrong.

[ oda hears the gunshots, and he is running towards the park as fast as he can. ]

[Kino follows, revolver drawn and pointed at the ground as she runs.]

[ You'll have to maneuver around the few panicked townsfolk still in attendance, but it seems like the shots sounded out from somewhere near the stage. ]

[Olympia immediately takes off running toward the source of the sound, mercifully preventing any possible continuation of her comedy performance.]

[ This is thankfully after Olympia's performance, so the world is not deprived of that, don't you worry. Seems the stage is your destination. ]

What the--?

[ Bolin was helping clean up, but the gun shots startle him and he starts running in that direction ]

[ Unless someone's doing a new, creative act, there's probably trouble. ]

[Well THIS is interesting, seeing as how Niwa is on security with her birds watching the whole variety show area.... She's going to be looking at those rather than running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Although her physical location is somewhere near the backstage area, where she could be easily contacted by the rest of the security team.]

[ The birds will certainly point her in the right direction, but then again, she's already pretty close... ]

BODY ANNOUNCEMENT

This went better than expected, all things considered.

[From the crowd, as if he had always been there, the Sergeant steps forward. He clasps his hands ]

We have an unfortunate victim tonight. Our dearly departed, F...Fo...Foursides? Forsooth? [He puts a hand against his ear. He knows the name, but he's not sure how to pronounce it. Finally, giving up:] Our dearly departed Jughead Jones will want justice. Given how late at night it is, the trial will be at dawn tomorrow, but you should investigate now. You wouldn't want any evidence to go missing because you waited too long, would you?

You'll find police cars at the spots of interest, so you don't have to wander all over the town and sneak into random places at 1:30 AM. Be careful when walking, it's really cold right now.

[And with that, the Sergeant leaves. Good luck, everyone]

[ well, oda will do his best to look at the body. he’s upset, but not enough for it to be visible behind his neutral expression.

[First of all, Olympia pokes her head out and takes a look at the crowd, on the off chance that Robert is in attendance. It's probably not important to the case, but surely everyone just saw the Sergeant telling the visitors what to do?]

[Seriously, Niwa is just looking for any sign of how the killer got through unseen. Her feathers are ruffled.]

[ Bolin couldn't stay in the park that much longer, so he's just going to wander around and eventually find himself at the Pharmacy. He's looking around the front, trying to see if anything is out of place here at the start. ]

[Alright. He's here with a wolf. Ignoring any and all weird looks he might be getting for bringing a wolf to the pharmacy.

[ "Be careful when walking, it's really cold right now." You fool, you absolute fool, Azura didn't even bring footwear, she's still in her dancer outfit with a coat draped over it. She can--actually, no, it's too cold even for her. Fuck that, she's going indoors.

She's grabbing her lance just in case, so...that's a sight. But what's there to be found inside the diner? ]

[Eventually, Kino makes her way over here, following the lights from the police cars.
