WEEK 0 — ARRIVAL
Week 0: Arrival
When you wake up you immediately feel something’s off. You sit on the bed and find it’s not your bed, and this isn’t your room either. You seem to be in a rather normal-looking motel room. To your side there’s a trunk, if you open it you’ll find a military uniform, the key to your room, a set of rules and a debit card. Don’t lose those items! Or do lose the rules, you'll find a brand new copy the next day under your pillow. There’s also a calendar on the wall, you can see today’s date. The year is unreadable, but the month and day are very clear:
March 28th
There it says ‘Meet the Sergeant at the Lodge, 9:00 AM’. There’s also a circle around March 31st, with the word ‘END’ scrawled there.
For now leaving your motel room would be a good choice. When you reach the lobby, you see the receptionist’s desk— no one’s manning it. There’s a rack filled with maps, marking several locations in the town.
There are also many strangers here – and you’re one more. For now it may be a good idea to take a map and explore the town.
After all, looks like you’re stuck here in the boonies for a while.

[When Luthier wakes up his first thought is that some people in the Deliverance have such nerve to move him while he slept. He maybe not be the most social, but there was no reason to be rude and play pranks now that the war was over. The situation is just made worse when he riffles around and can't find any of his tomes or belongings.
The odd uniform just makes him more sure he's been moved to another soldier's room in the castle, even if the odd emphasis on the 28th march this soldier had gone on was lost on him.
It's an easy decision to leave room one without taking any of the items left in it and going towards the sound of people. This takes him to the reception area-- and even more confusion. This doesn't look like any building in Zofia or Rigel, and these people are nothing like those in the castle the Deliverance were recuperating at.
More importantly--] Delthea! [hello confused bystander] Have you seen my sister around here? Yea high? Rather loud?
ii.
[Once the initial shock and confusion wear off, Luthier takes his time pacing around outside--there has to be some clue here about why and he's determined to find it.]
i
Maybe that's a lucky thing, depending on the type of situation we're in. Something tells me you wouldn't want her sticking around in a place like this.

[ Color him curious. ]

[there's an implied "so watch it bub" in there somewhere, if axel ever does meet his sister]
no subject
[ He hears the implied but Axel is pretty sure he'll be a - okay either way. ]

[ Red heads gotta stick together. ]
Honestly, I wouldn't know. Then again, I've got some skill in magic too -- but especially with fire so maybe they're interested in that.
But you know what they say about fire...you get too close, you're going to get burnt.
[ Axel makes a corny-ass "sizzling" noise and snaps his fingers. ]
no subject
Hm, yes that could be a common denominator, at least in our cases.
[Axel's comment and attitude bring a smirk to Luthier's face-- that was similar enough to something Delthea or one of the village children from Ram would say. Sizzle noise and all. It helps Luthier settle himself to have something so familiar.]
That's most compelling, I'll have to agree. Whoever brought us here should have learned not to play too close to fire.
no subject
I'm sure the others got something our kidnappers want too.
[ He says, ever still so casually, but hey. He's not about to be sad-faced about this. ]
Exactly. Looks like we're going to get along nicely -- by the way, name's Axel.
What's yours, buddy?
reception
[ She thinks back on the people she had met. She had met a girl that was about that high, but she wasn't loud. ]
I'm afraid not...
[ Oh, but, if they're asking about siblings... ]
Have you seen my brother, Cedric? He's a little taller than me, and has short blonde hair. He's kind of soft-spoken, especially around pretty girls. Or my other brother, Olivert? [ She took in Luthier's features. ] He's about your height, and also blonde. His most recognizable feature is how he flirts with anything that moves, though!
[ Yes, she just described both of her brothers by how flirtatious they are. That's just the kind of family they are. ]

This girl doesn't seem that nefarious however. If anything she seems to be stuck in the same boat as him.]
I'm equally regretful to say I haven't seen anyone of that description. [that much charisma would probably be very eyecatching] I can easily keep an eye out and tell them you're looking, if I do happen upon them.
no subject
Thank you.
[ She sighed. ]
I'm sure if my big brother were here, he would already have a plan for getting us out of this situation...
no subject
[that's reliable advice right??? Where's Alm (or maybe Lukas?) when you need him...]
no subject
Do you have a plan?
[ She asked hopefully. ]
no subject
For all that I'm a scholar, I don't exactly have the ability to lead others towards the completion of a goal such as this. [maybe if you had magic homework that needed help, or wanted theoretical etiquette lessons, then he'd be your man.
until then, you're stuck with Luthier and his negative amount of people skills]
no subject
[ If anyone would be, it would be a scholar. ]
no subject
I cannot say I know of anything by that name. Which means it's most likely not part of the lands I'm familiar with, unless there is another name it goes by to non-natives.
[He sighs, before continuing]
In all likelihood that would require leaving here to find out. I'm not sure how viable an option that is, however.
i.
Does she have long blonde hair and dress primarily in red? I may have seen her if so.
no subject
No... No, Delthea has brown hair, maybe slightly longer than my own. I don't believe that she is the one you have seen.
no subject
All things considered, perhaps it's for the best. At a glance, this may not be the safest place for her to be.
i
[He rubs at his head. That is not the girl Luthier is looking for.]
