WEEK 0 — ARRIVAL
Week 0: Arrival
When you wake up you immediately feel something’s off. You sit on the bed and find it’s not your bed, and this isn’t your room either. You seem to be in a rather normal-looking motel room. To your side there’s a trunk, if you open it you’ll find a military uniform, the key to your room, a set of rules and a debit card. Don’t lose those items! Or do lose the rules, you'll find a brand new copy the next day under your pillow. There’s also a calendar on the wall, you can see today’s date. The year is unreadable, but the month and day are very clear:
March 28th
There it says ‘Meet the Sergeant at the Lodge, 9:00 AM’. There’s also a circle around March 31st, with the word ‘END’ scrawled there.
For now leaving your motel room would be a good choice. When you reach the lobby, you see the receptionist’s desk— no one’s manning it. There’s a rack filled with maps, marking several locations in the town.
There are also many strangers here – and you’re one more. For now it may be a good idea to take a map and explore the town.
After all, looks like you’re stuck here in the boonies for a while.

[It doesn't matter where you are in the town, because the moment Sakura wakes up her eyes and goes out of the motel, she is immediately yelling that single sound out of sheer surprise, frantically running around to see if she can find out where she is and if there's anyone there. Or anything.
But of course she's only paying half attention, which means she might end up ramming head first into a stranger.
Sorry.]

el melloi the second may be a tower in terms of height, but he's as thin as a toothpick and stumbles when sakura rams into him. at least he doesn't fall, so he can keep at least some of his pride.
he quirks an eyebrow, and sees that it's...a young girl. ah. ]

out of all the weird things lord el melloi has been through, this has got to be the most ridiculous one. he doesn't panic, but his stomach already begins to churn unhappily due to the new stress in his life.
at the receptionist's desk, he'll help himself to a couple different maps before setting out. and, when he finds someone that looks just as lost as he feels, he'll approach them. ]

[ As soon as Alfin awoke, she could tell something was wrong. Her bed wasn't comfy at all, which was strange as it had been perfectly fluffy when she went to sleep last night. It was almost as if this wasn't her bed at all... But that's just paranaoia, right?
She opened her eyes and discovered that no, that was not just paranoia. She quickly sat up, and looked around. She didn't recognize this room at all. Growing increasingly worried, she threw the covers off of herself and got out of bed. Upon doing so, she noticed the trunk right next to her feet. Before checking the trunk, however, she looked around the room and took note of the calendar. There was writing on it. She moved over to read it, and after doing so her brow furrowed. Sergeant? Had she been placed under protective custody, without her knowledge? Or worse, kidnapped by an enemy nation? Given that she had been in the castle, and asleep, neither seemed likely, but... Her being here at all was unlikely, so she had to consider every possibility.
She also needed to check out what was in that trunk. There might be an explanation inside. She walked back over to it and kneeled down in front of it. It didn't appear to be locked, or indeed have a lock at all, so it was quite easy to open. The first thing she noticed was the uniform. It certainly wasn't an Erebonian military uniform. She pulled it out of the suitcase to examine it. It wasn't from any military she recognized. Could it be a jaeger uniform? She shuddered. She didn't want to think about the implications of a jaeger uniform in the same room as her.
She refolded the uniform and took note of the gas mask and helmet that had been sitting atop it. The helmet was quickly disregarded-- helmets aren't a big protective must in Zemuria. They can't protect one from most orbment spells after all. But the gas mask... She picked that up. She had never seen one in person before, but she knew what it was. If something like that was in here... Are there toxic gasses around? She should take this with her, just in case.
The most eye-catching items in the trunk sorted through, Alfin finally noticed the paper with the rules. Picking the paper up, she quickly read through it. ]
Thirty days...?
[ That was... a long time. But she can't possibly actually stay here that long, could she? Surely her family is already looking for her.
The next rule to make her take pause was the execution rule. That was... This was...
She shuddered and quickly read on. ]
Murder?!
[ She had hoped the next rule would make things better not worse! She wasn't a murderer... What was going on here?! There must be some kind of mistake... She shoved the paper into her pocket and stood up, not noticing the debit card or room key. She was leaving to find this 'Sergeant'-- now. ]
Floor 2
[ After leaving her room, she noticed she had already been wearing shoes. More specifically, her very own boots. She shuddered. She most certainly hadn't fallen asleep wearing them. Somebody must have dressed her. She looked around, and upon seeing someone, stormed over. ]
You! Explain yourself!
[ She yelled, wrongly assuming that whoever she ran into was involved in her kidnapping. ]
Floor 1
[ After having discovered that she was not the only person kidnapped, she made her way down to the first floor. There were a lot of people milling about-- this time, she correctly assumed they were fellow kidnappees. There was one door hanging open, and a lot of people in and around it. Upon making her way over to that room, she noticed an empty desk... And a rack of maps. She ignored the desk and hurried over the maps, pulling one off of the rack to examine closer. Hmmm, they must be...
She looked to her side at the nearest person and showed them her map. ]
Do you think we're at the motel right now?
Floor 2
He looks vaguely amused, so. That is what they're starting with. ]

As soon as he sets foot outside however, he abruptly comes to a stop, staring at the open sky. ]
This is-Light Time? ...the Moon? [ The last word is said waveringly and unsure, like a word you've heard once before but aren't quite sure how to pronounce. His hand snaps to his left cheek, tracing the black symbol seemingly tattooed there, as he stands there unmoving. ]

Not here either... What sort of half-assed management is this?
[He mutters that to himself before straightening up and taking notice that he is no longer alone. Well, may as well give asking around a shot. He calls out with a pleasant front, though the edges of his tone hint at a bit of anxiety.]
Pardon me! You wouldn't happen to know where the staff of this establishment is, would you? I seem to have had my belongings confiscated and replaced with [he waves his debit card] this piece of plastic. I don't appreciate an unfair trade, especially one that I don't recall accepting in the first place.
[After ending up with no answers at the motel, the next logical course of action would be to do what the calendar suggested: head for the lodge. So that's what Will does, and he can be found around town as he makes his way there. At just about every new location he finds, his intrigue only grows.]
This is like no island I've ever set foot on...

Breakfast is as good a starting point as any. Find her in the diner, skipping the OJ and instead looking for whatever has the most protein. Eventually she's got steak and eggs. It looks pretty good! If you like rare meat anyway.
Some time after that, she'll throw darts in the tavern. What better way to let off steam than hurling some sharp-tipped objects at the wall, right? Though, it's pretty rare for darts to be that unsafe these days.]

Greet the Sergeant, troops.]
I’m aware you won’t believe me, but I’m glad you’re here on time. It seems your stay here won’t start with a punishment.
[Punishment he didn’t even warn about. Clearly this man isn’t particularly concerned about fairness]
Let’s make this short and sweet. You have been brought here for a reason: to show you’re worth keeping alive. I’m not asking for extraordinaire feats, all I want to see is that you value your life enough to do something about it. These are my terms and conditions:
I want one death. That’s all I ask for, one measly, insignificant death. I don’t care who does it, I don’t care who is the target, just make it happen. [He looks at them, somehow you can feel disdain radiating from him] But of course I imagine some of you will protest, I can see it coming. Spare me your sermon and just listen:
If there’s no death, instead of one single death I will seek twenty two. I believe the implication is very clear, isn’t it? Think about it: isn’t your life worth cherishing? Will you do nothing and let certain death drag you to the depths of hell in four days? Or, since I’m sure some of you want to think you’re heroic: wouldn’t twenty-one lives be more valuable than a single life? Any four year-old can tell what’d be more valuable, hero.
Can’t be simpler than this, if you ask me.
[His tone is somewhat flippant, and the fact you can't see his face doesn't help. Maybe some would expect him to turn around and enter the Lodge again after dropping such an outrageous demand, but he seems to like the thought of facing his guests right now]
no subject
[He can't help himself. Not after everything he went through. Screw sparing the protest.]
It's not about being heroic, this is pointless!

[When Luthier wakes up his first thought is that some people in the Deliverance have such nerve to move him while he slept. He maybe not be the most social, but there was no reason to be rude and play pranks now that the war was over. The situation is just made worse when he riffles around and can't find any of his tomes or belongings.
The odd uniform just makes him more sure he's been moved to another soldier's room in the castle, even if the odd emphasis on the 28th march this soldier had gone on was lost on him.
It's an easy decision to leave room one without taking any of the items left in it and going towards the sound of people. This takes him to the reception area-- and even more confusion. This doesn't look like any building in Zofia or Rigel, and these people are nothing like those in the castle the Deliverance were recuperating at.
More importantly--] Delthea! [hello confused bystander] Have you seen my sister around here? Yea high? Rather loud?
ii.
[Once the initial shock and confusion wear off, Luthier takes his time pacing around outside--there has to be some clue here about why and he's determined to find it.]

Post-Meeting
He has places to go, and things to get.
If you see him wandering - not hard to do, since he is that scraggly redhead wearing the black cloak twith the beard - you'll find him in the evening hitting up specific stores. Hardware. Convenience. Gas station. Junkyard. And yes - even the weapons shop. Back and forth from those places he's going, with bags and bags of stuff.
Having infinite money is a good thing, he supposes, in this case. But he could use help for everything he needs to get. Which is...a lot. Apparently.
Once he's done, though, he can be found in the diner, eating several plates of food like he hasn't eaten a square meal in days. And after that, he's in the tavern, nursing a beer, and looking...distant. Thoughtful. He sighs as he takes a sip, looking rather melancholy.]

Post-Meeting
She climbed up on top of a bench in the park and glanced around before starting her speech. ]
I am Princess Alfin Reise Arnor of Erebonia!
[ If she wants to get things done, she can't hide her identity. The people need a banner to unite under, and she will do her best to be that banner. ]
Just like you, I have been taken captive by this 'Sergeant.' And just like you, I want to return home-- and bring this man to justice, so that something like this may never happen again!
[ Sure, say that in a mock round, Alfin. You're definitely going to be successful. ]
He may have kidnapped us, but we remain free to roam around this town, Cartesio! This Sergeant has underestimated us by leaving us our freedom, and that shall be his downfall! You heard him; there are twenty-two of us! Twenty-two! And there is only one of him! I ask you, what can one man do to twenty-two free men? Do not be afraid! We are the many, and we are strong!
[ She was doing her best, but as she spoke she heard a nagging voice in the back of her mind that she could do better. ]
We can fight back against the Sergeant! What are his rules, if we can defeat him? He is not a monster-- only a man! A coward that hides his face, and forces others to do his dirty work!
[ She recalls the words of her ancestor. ]
Let us rise up as one, and form the foundation for our escape!
[ Wait, that isn't quite right. Oh well. ]

Kind of weird that someone her age knows what she's doing as well as she seems to. ]
The 1911 model should be sufficient, I think.
